The cast of Guilty Gear Strive comprises wildly different and fascinating characters that possess incredible strength, charm, and style. While there are far more characters in the universe than what’s present in Strive, those who made it are still phenomenally unique and encapsulate what makes Guilty Gear so fun.

Guilty Gear Strive has 29 playable characters in its roster and even more present in its story that will seemingly show up as DLC sooner rather than later. Guilty Gear prides itself on having fighters who all feel different from one another, who feel like they should be in another game entirely, making for a vast and crazy roster.

This roster is massive and will continue to only get bigger, stronger, and more out-of-control, something we love to see. A.B.A

A.B.A is the penultimate character of Season 3, making her way onto the roster with her trusty demon-axe Paracelsus, whom she wields as her weapon of choice and forces to be her spouse. However, due to A.B.A’s obsession with keys, Paracelsus has taken the form of a large golden key to please her. In case you haven’t quite caught on yet, she’s a bit… unhinged.

In regard to A.B.A herself, she has lengthy green hair with a white headband, along with a black key that seemingly pierces through her head. She has many loose bandages wrapped around her body, along with a pair of white jeans that she fashioned into a top, and a pair of white booty shorts that she wears normally. Lastly, she also has intense bags under her eyes, along with short black, fingerless gloves that expose her blue-ish-green nails.

Anji Mito

Anji Mito is the Elegant Martial Dancer and constantly pursues his freedom by adventuring throughout the world. Mito is a free spirit and is known for his rather cheerful and playful personality, but he can often get himself in a tricky situation as he acts before thinking things through.

Anji’s attire consists of a blue bandana wrapped around his forehead, separated kimono sleeves that leave his muscular torso exposed, a hakama decorated with butterflies, and a light-blue image of Mount Fuji. Anji also has pince-nez glasses and uses giant sensus, Japanese fans, as his primary melee weapons!

Asuka R#

Asuka R# (also known as ‘That Man’) is finally a playable character in the Guilty Gear franchise, making their debut as one of the most complex and challenging fighters you could possibly imagine.

Once the main antagonist of the series and the creator of the Gears and Justice, Asuka is one of the strongest mages in the series, wielding a long Magical Staff and the Tome of Origin, which contains the secrets of The Backyard, an alternate universe within the series.

He sports a long orange Haori Robe complete with a black cassock, a gray Kimono, and a flowing white Hakama. His left eye also has five pink feathers positioned in a circular pattern that resembles a flower. At its center is a coin-like object with a cross on it.

Additionally, Asuka has white hair and green eyes, and a cape-like piece of attire that floats behind him that has visuals of the galaxy that shifts around the inside of it, making for breathtaking visuals.

Axl Low

Hailing from England with a relentless optimistic personality, Axl Low is always willing to help others out even if it puts him in great danger. Axl is constantly trying to satisfy everyone, making it hard for some to take him seriously.

Furthermore, Low hates the idea of dying and ultimately refuses to take another person’s life, regardless of the situation or circumstances.

Axl Low’s wardrobe consists of dark gray trousers, a belt with a Union Jack buckle, and brown boots. He also wears a sleeveless blue shirt underneath a tartan patterned letter jacket and a black bandana.

He also has superhuman reflexes and is a highly-skilled martial artist, allowing him to use his dual chain sickle effortlessly. Axl also taught himself how to use fire magic and use it in combat alongside his sickles.

Baiken

Due to her Japanese heritage, Baiken possesses enormous strength and can manipulate Ki. She is a fearsome warrior who is one of the most formidable opponents in the series despite missing her left eye and right arm.

Due to a traumatic loss, Baiken seeks revenge, making her sole goal to take down That Man. She’s an impulsive and short-tempered individual but has a soft spot for Anji Mito.

Baiken’s design is unique due to her missing eye and arm, but she is still very badass and looks the part. She has long pink hair and sports a goggle-like eye patch over her left eye.

Additionally, Baiken has a red tattoo above her right eye and forehead, with a scar above her left eye. Her black, white, and red kimono with the right sleeve torn is her iconic outfit, which also has a sarashi that covers her lower body. Baiken’s weapon of choice is her trusty katana, with loads of hidden weapons for backup.

Bedman? And Delilah

Bedman? is one of the more unique characters in Guilty Gear Strive and is a repurposed and highly reinforced bedframe that used to hold Bedman in previous Guilty Gear titles. However, it is now a sentient entity due to Bedman programming it to protect his sister Delilah before his death.

Delilah is the little girl pictured above, and Bedman? is the towering bedframe of death that she is sitting on top of that will go to great lengths to protect her.

His design consists of a four-pronged deep black crown, a bedframe, and several spiked wheels that it uses to carve its opponent to shreds with. Bedman? also has lots of wear and tear on it now, with its right eye showcasing deep cracks.

Little is known about Bedman or Delilah, but Delilah does have a distinct look. She has short black hair and an orange arrow that points upward on her front bangs. She also wears a stylish trenchcoat with large red crosses near her left and right shoulders, plaid-themed socks, and large black wedge shoes.

Bridget

Like Axl Low, Bridget is one of the few characters in the series born in England. She’s a bounty hunter known by many throughout the world but only decided to become one to earn enough money to survive and raise money for her village and parents.

In most cases, however, Bridget is exceptionally kind, generous, and compassionate and would much rather become friends with her opponent instead of fighting them.

This is seen throughout the series, as May, Potemkin, and Dizzy have all become good friends with Bridget, which further extends into Strive with Goldlewis and Ky offering her advice and comfort, helping her find her true self.

In past titles, Bridget’s attire was comparable to a catholic nun, with Guilty Gear Strive altering it quite a bit. She now wears a white sweater with a black rope tied around it, which she has over top of a long black shirt that extends well past her waist.

She also wears a blue and white hoodie on top of her sweater, which calls back to the nun-like design of past titles. The hoodie has crosses near its base and sleeves but has the Androgyne (⚨) symbol on its hood instead of the male symbol it previously had (♂).

Her enormous handcuff around her waist also returns, but it now has a chain attached to it. She also has blue and white shoes and white socks that compliment her hoodie nicely. Bridget also has blonde hair and bright, emerald green eyes.

When it comes to combat, Bridget wields an oversized yo-yo that has the wheel of a revolver built into it, allowing her to turn her expert yo-yo skills into a lethal weapon.

In addition to her yo-yo, Bridget also has a large mechanical bear named Roger that she uses quite effectively in battle, especially when paired with her trusty yo-yo.

Chipp Zanuff

Chipp Zanuff was an orphaned child that was once caught up in drugs and the Mafia but later fled from that lifestyle to train his body and soul in the way of the ninja.

While Chipp is American-born, he insists he was born in Japan and dramatically loves their culture and way of life. Zanuff has incredible intuition and reacts on hunches rather than having a well-thought-out plan of attack. Chipp is also the founder and President of the Eastern Chipp Kingdom.

Since training in the way of the ninja, Chipp’s outfit consists of black sandals, white harem trousers, and an obi cord belt.

Chipp also has a black vest along with black leather wristbands and a red sash. Furthermore, Zanuff uses an arm blade as his primary weapon of choice and mixes it flawlessly with his ninja arts.

Elphelt Valentine

Elphelt Valentine has entered the ever-growing roster of Guilty Gear Strive as the game’s 26th character, rocking new threads that turn her from a bridal-themed rushdown fighter to a metal/punk-rocker type, making her have one of the most drastic changes from title to title.

She now wears a sleeveless white dress that is ruffled at the bottom, showcasing its light pink undercolor. She also sports a pink choker and jacket with spikes, along with thigh-high boots that bring her new redesign together.

Her weapon of choice is a gun that has a microphone attached to the end of it, enabling her to belt some screamo-infused lyrics into her opposition’s face upon defeating them, making her just the absolute coolest character on the roster. We love everything about her redesign in Strive!

• Elphelt was born on December 25 in the Backyard, but her current age is unknown (surprise, surprise).
• Elphelt Valentine is 5’6″ (168 cm), and her weight is currently unknown.

Faust

A once highly regarded surgeon, Faust was ultimately framed for the death of a child and was driven mad with bloodlust, eventually sending him on a murderous rampage.

Faust is best described as “wacky” when on the battlefield but still cares significantly about humans and non-humans alike, no matter how dark his past is.

He will help anyone who requires his service, even those who betrayed him. However, if push comes to shove, Faust has no problem switching to his dark side and showing no mercy on the opponent.

Faust has a dark aura that extrudes from within him and wields an enormous scalpel that he uses as his weapon of choice. He has a paper bag over his head with a hole that exposes one glowing red eye.

Furthermore, Faust wears light blue scrubs, has a stethoscope around his neck, a syringe with red liquid hanging from his waist, and white gloves and shoes. A scar is also visible on the right side of his chest.

• Due to his mysterious nature, Faust’s date of birth is unknown but is said to be on August 21. However, no one knows Faust’s age.

Giovanna

Giovanna is a new character within the Guilty Gear series but fights alongside her wolf-spirit companion Rei, who she considers family.

She is also a special forces officer and conducts herself professionally. While Giovanna can come off as cold or rude due to her attitude and profession, she is actually a rather friendly and compassionate person, especially towards children and animals.

Additionally, Giovanna dresses in business casual attire, with olive green cargo pants, suspenders, a white dress shirt, and beige finger-less gloves.

Goldlewis Dickinson

Goldlewis Dickinson is well known for his loyalty and being the “funny guy” amongst his friends. Additionally, Dickinson is the first person in U.S. history to be an active soldier in the military and be the Secretary of Defense simultaneously.

Due to his combat experience, Goldlewis is incredibly observant and has excellent judgment. Goldlewis Dickinson has a thick grey beard with stylized grey hair. He also has glasses but blacked out the left lens with a lipstick stain on it.

Furthermore, Dickinson has a brown military jacket over a white dress shirt and yellow tie, paired with brown chaps and jeans. His jeans are held up by a belt with a deer skull buckle, and he also wears gloves and boots.

Lastly, Goldlewis Dickinson’s weapon of choice is an enormous steel casket from Area 51 with a living alien inside it… While there is undoubtedly an alien inside the coffin, Dickinson simply doesn’t believe in them and refuses to check the contents within.

Happy Chaos

Happy Chaos is a unique individual who went mad after obtaining the knowledge of the universe, ultimately resulting in him becoming unusually “pure.”

He views good and evil as equal, leading him to cause great destruction and fight for justice, hence his name. Furthermore, Happy Chaos is the creator of the backyard and a pioneer of magic and is also the strongest magic wielder of all time.

Happy Chaos has light cerulean skin and an athletic body with messy, dirty blond hair. He also has a pair of horns on his head with a five-point halo that hovers above his head. He also wears black leather pants, one black fingerless glove, and dual-wields revolvers as his weapon of choice.

• Happy Chaos was born on January 16, but his age is unknown, much like the others.
• Happy Chaos is 5’11” (179 cm) and weighs 141 lbs (64 kg)

I-No

I-No is as wicked and cruel as they come and acts as if everyone is beneath her. She has no problem manipulating people to get her way and will double-cross you when the opportunity presents itself.

While I-No is known to be heartless and aggressive, she has shown empathy in the past, but only towards Axl and Raven. I-No’s design consists of a cropped red leather jacket, with the buttons open and a black bra underneath.

She also wears red short-shorts with thigh-high red leather boots and a belt with pieces of coattails hanging from it. Additionally, I-No wears a giant red witch’s hat, black gloves, a choker, and green shades. Finally, I-No’s weapon of choice is her light blue electric guitar, which she also uses to fly on.

Jack-O’ Valentine

Jack-O’ Valentine is one of three servants of That Man and has a mysterious past. Due to her awakening in an incomplete state, only half of her soul was pulled from the main body, making her personality and memories unstable.

As a result, Jack-O’ has a “split personality” of sorts, one of a calm and steadfast woman and the other of a cheerful child. In terms of appearance, Jack-O’ Valentine has a five-point halo similar to Happy Chaos, except hers is cracked.

She also wears a white skin-tight one-piece suit that is looser around her forearms and calves due to slits in the attire. Jack-O’ also has waist-long red hair with white highlights and green eyes.

Her weapon of choice is her trusty Iron Pumpkin Flail and a small ensemble of minions she can summon and command while on the battlefield.

Johnny

Johnny, the shirtless, shredded, cowboy-hat-wearing leader of the Jellyfish Pirates, has finally made his appearance in Guilty Gear Strive, looking nearly identical to his previous look in Guilty Gear Xrd. This means that he rocks a long black trenchcoat that is never buttoned, so his glorious body is on full display at all times.

He also wears shades, fingerless gloves, tight black pants, and tan low-cut boots. Johnny has blue eyes and, short, slicked-back blonde hair, and two belts. One normal-sized belt and one enormous one that will always look a bit comical compared to the rest of his attire.

In combat, Johnny wields a Shirasaya and a Deck of Cards, utilizing them in tandem to deal mass amounts of damage to his target, looking flashy and as cool as ever while doing it. Being the leader of the Jellyfish Pirates, he was the one who discovered May, bringing her aboard and into the series.

Ky Kiske

In drastic contrast to I-No, Ky Kiske is a man of faith and is a kindhearted individual. Ky believes in the following three things, justice, order, and honor, and commits his life to follow them.

Kiske is known to hold back against women in battle, vows to protect the weak at any cost, and refuses to fight anyone at a significant disadvantage.

Ky Kiske’s wardrobe consists of a dark blue v-neck t-shirt with one long sleeve and dark blue trousers. He also has a white cape-like jacket draped over his shoulders, paid with blue gloves and brown boots.

He has short blond hair and blue eyes and is constantly described as a handsome young man. Ky wields the Thunderseal as his weapon, a longsword that gives him the ability to control and amplify his lightning magic.

Leo Whitefang

Leo Whitefang is a prideful man who is extraordinarily cautious and level-headed. Leo is intimidating, confident, and can be extremely loud when surprised but maintains a level of patience and calmness through most situations.

Leo, once viewed by many of his opponents as self-centered and arrogant, became humbled after meeting Ky Kiske, who helped Leo evolve into a much more approachable person.

Leo is a fashionable person who wears multiple layers of clothes on his upper body: a brown overcoat, a black waistcoat, and an open-collar white shirt. Additionally, he wears a pair of light brown trousers, black fingerless gloves, and tan boots.

Whitefang also has messy shoulder-length blond hair, blue eyes, and a beard. Leo uses his signature Twin Blades for combat and is proficient in magic due to his training with Ky Kiske.

May

May lost her home and family to the Crusades and was discovered and taken in by the leader of the Jellyfish Pirates, Johnny, at a very young age. May has one motivation, and that’s to protect her new family, the Jellyfish Pirates, at all costs and have Johnny notice her.

May is the definition of pure energetic chaos but is a kind, openhearted individual and means well. May also enjoys pranks and diving into problems head first with little to no thought, often dragging her friends along for the ride.

While she sometimes puts her friends in danger, her energy is contagious, and they’re just as enthused as she is. She also has an irrational phobia of bald people and can “sense them” from a great distance.

May dresses in a large, oversized orange hoodie with black lycra shorts and big orange boots. She also wears a beige backpack themed after a Chimaki, black fingerless gloves, and an enormous orange pirate hat. May has big brown eyes and long brown hair.

Due to her Japanese heritage, May possesses superhuman strength and wields a giant ship anchor for her melee weapon as a result. She can also summon in dolphins and other aquatic animals to help her in combat.

• While May’s birthday is unknown, she celebrates it on May 5 (the day Johnny found her on the battlefield). Her age is also largely unknown, although she mumbles what seems to be “22” when Chipp Zanuff asks her how old she is in Xrd.

Millia Rage

Due to her extensive assassin training, Millia is a somewhat distant and cold character but often gets portrayed as elegant and feminine. Millia Rage is compassionate mainly to children and views men as selfish scums of the earth, primarily due to her relationship with Zato-ONE.

However, after leaving the Assassins Guild, Millia has grown much more considerate towards others but mainly keeps to herself, keeping them safe from the threat that still follows her.

Millia wears an orange shawl over top of her short trench coat, medium-lengthed boots with leggings underneath, and has a fur hat.

She also has long flowing blonde hair and deep dark blue eyes. As for Millia Rage’s weapon, her assassin training allows her to mold her hair into a fatal weapon, enabling her to attack her enemies in many ways.

Nagoriyuki

Nagoriyuki is a newcomer to the Guilty Gear roster but is as noble as they come. Nagoriyuki is a vampire samurai that is noble in battle and kind to everyone he comes across. He likes advising anyone who needs it, especially those he defeats in action.

While he has no attachment to anyone, he grows a rivalry with Sol Badguy and reminds him of his flaws during their fight. Nagoriyuki is a towering, dark-skinned man and is an absolute unit.

He has long dreadlocks tied into a ponytail and light blue eyes but often covers them with his mechanical hannya-inspired helmet.

Furthermore, Nagoriyuki has an oversized white coat with purple lining draped over his shoulders, an orange robe, and a long waistcloth paired with black leggings and sandals. Nagoriyuki fights with an enormous katana with magical powers to draw blood from his enemies and seal their wounds.

Potemkin

Once a slave worker in the military state of Zepp, Potemkin was constantly living in fear due to his anti-desertion bomb collar he was forced to wear that could blow up at any minute. Despite Potemkin’s large, muscular physique, he hates fighting and seeing others in pain.

He is also a brilliant individual with unbelievable pain tolerance, which he uses to his advantage if he has no other options left other than fighting. In general, Potemkin has a great love for nature, an honest heart, and is gentle and loving.

Potemkin is a towering tan-skinned man who wears a green skin-tight military uniform and a metal helmet decorated with an orange ponytail and large orange metal gauntlets.

However, Potemkin doesn’t wield any weapons and, instead, uses his hands to grapple his opponents or hit them with devastating punches.

Queen Dizzy

Queen Dizzy is the first character to enter the Guilty Gear Strive roster in Season 4 and has a substantial redesign from her previous appearances in the series. Her hair is drastically different, with one long braided ponytail that goes down her back instead of two, replacing her yellow ribbons with yellow and white flowers instead.

Her eyes remain red, but her attire also received a steep overhaul, giving her long kimono sleeves that pair well with her long black dress and white collared top. Additionally, she also has white leggings, black high-heels, and long black fingerless gloves that pull everything together, making her look the best she ever has.

For her weapons, she still utilizes the powers of Necro and Undine, her pair of sentient wings that can shapeshift and deal tremendous amounts of damage. They also received a massive visual overhaul, with both figures being black, Necro wearing a white robe, and Undine rocking long white hair. Necro also has a bright green halo above his head, while Undine has a bright blue one, referencing their old designs.

Since Queen Dizzy is a Half-Gear and Human hybrid, her body matures at a staggering rate, meaning she is only about nine years old in Guilty Gear Strive. So… there’s that bit of information to dwell on, we guess.

Ramlethal Valentine

Ramlethal Valentine is a failed genetic recreation of Aria Hale and lacks emotions and a conscience. While she is starting to show some emotion towards things, she is still deadpan, serious, and relatively quiet.

It’s also hard for Ramlethal to grasp concepts such as “liking or disliking” something or what’s “right or wrong.” However, like all Valentines, Ramlethal eventually learns those things and grows into her own.

She wears a stylized white cape that drapes over her right shoulder a sleeveless white shirt with neon green highlights underneath it that exposes her midriff. She also wears white lycra shorts, a white cap with small pointed ears, and has red wraps on her left arm and leg.

Ramlethal, while excellent at hand-to-hand combat, wields two greatswords that she can summon and dismiss on command. Her greatswords also possess the ability to discharge a powerful beam of energy that will destroy anything in its path.

Sin Kiske

Sin Kiske is the son of Ky Kiske and Dizzy but was raised by Sol Badguy, who he would carry out missions alongside as a hired Bounty Hunter.

Like Ky, Sin has stunning bluish-green eyes and short, messy blonde hair and can harness the power of lightning to deliver quick and devastating blows on his opponent with his Battle Flag.

He wears a pinstripe waistcoat paired with a dress shirt and red tie, along with dress pants and light-brown dress shoes. His coat resembles a cape but looks very fancy, which is precisely what he’s gunning for. He also has brown hair that’s styled to the side, a goatee, and a monocle, which helps tie everything together.

For his weapon, he used his hands and teeth. He is a vampire, after all. In combat, he is very aggressive and can deal tremendous amounts of damage that comes from his quick attacks that can be hard to predict or react to on the receiving end. This dapper and handsome man is very, very deadly!

Sol Badguy

Formally a scientist that went by the name of Frederick, Sol Badguy put that life behind him to become a bounty hunter.

However, Sol is a man of logic and is rather intelligent but lacks the social skills necessary to make conversation. Sol has a known jaded personality and isn’t excellent at expressing himself to others.

In fact, Sol would instead work alone and often bullies people or completely obliterates those who get in his way. Furthermore, Sol tends to be one-minded and lacks focus on things that aren’t part of his primary goal, making him come off as self-centered.

Sol wears a cropped red leather jacket over top of his tight black undershirt, paired with white jeans held up with a belt that has a buckle with the word “FREE!” on it.

He also wears fingerless gloves and a red bandana and has spiky dark brown hair and brown eyes. Sol is one of the strongest characters in the game and wields his giant blunt sword, the Fireseal, which allows him to amplify and harness his fire magic.

Testament

During the Crusades, Testament was under the control of Justice due to them being a humanoid-type Gear. Additionally, Testament was also an orphan but was adopted by Kliff Undersn at a young age during the same period.

Before getting turned into a Gear, Testament was a conscientious person who hated violence and confrontation. Testament always helped others out, often putting their own needs on the back burner.

They always strived to protect the innocent as a way to repay the kindness Kliff greeted them with whenever he took them in during the Crusades.

Unfortunately, after being forcefully turned into a Gear, Testament would grow a strong distrust for humans due to Justice and her orders.

However, due to Testament’s strong bond with Kliff and their strong will and mental fortitude allowed them to keep some consciousness and memories, making them semi-independent from Justice’s demands.

After Justice’s death, Testament would return to their original self, but with the horrific realization of all the wrongdoings they did while under the control of Justice.

Now, Testament is still against fighting humans and will try to prevent it as much as possible, and watches over Dizzy’s “parents,” which helped them become at peace once again.

Testament wields a crimson scythe that uses blood magic as its primary source of damage. They also have a succubus familiar and their EXE Beast that fights alongside them in battle.

In terms of their fashion, Testament rocks a sleeveless white shirt and a frilled cravat that they pair with a black waistcoat that connects to a mantle on their right arm. They also wear a short black skirt with several brown waist belts and black boots that end just below their knees.

Additionally, Testament also has a pale complexion with red eyes and long black hair that reaches their thighs. They also “top” everything off with a top hat, which puts everything together.

Zato-ONE

Zato-ONE is an elegant but level-headed assassin that looks at every problem calmly and with significant consideration. While arrogant, Zato-ONE has good intentions and wants to turn the Assassins Guild into a haven of sorts after the war.

However, after Millia left him, he saw it as betrayal and turned bitter and full of hate. Zato-ONE was heavily involved in experiments, leading him to eventually die and become resurrected, causing him to lose his sight.

He doesn’t care about anything besides Millia, who he still swears to protect, no matter the situation. Zato-ONE’s attire consists of a padded sleeveless turtleneck shirt, black military pants, arm sleeves, and a red blindfold over his eyes.

Zato-ONE also wears a choker and black boots and has long blond hair. He used to have blue eyes before the incident mentioned above.

Additionally, Zato-ONE’s experiments granted him the Shadow Beast Eddie, allowing him to freely navigate the world as if he had his vision back. Eddie also allows Zato-ONE to shapeshift into various things and unleash devastating attacks.
