Updated on December 1, 2024: Monopoly Go has redesigned some of the features of the Flash Events, so we’re updating our guide to include images for each Flash Event as well as a bit more info on each. Happy building!

How Do Flash Events Work?

Completing a board during the Board Rush boost in Monopoly Go.-1

Unlike the regular tournament-style events with leaderboards or the weekly ones asking you to collect tokens or work as a team, flash events are sporadic, short-term events that occur throughout each day in Monopoly Go, whether as naturally-occuring events or as rewards for hitting certain milestones during events.

That said, events run during set times throughout the day regardless of time zones, so it’s largely down to logging in at the right time to catch one in progress. When you log into the game during that window, your timer will begin, and you’ll have a set number of minutes or hours after first logging in to complete the event. You’ll have until the end of your personal timer on each specific event to enjoy the boost.

For example, if an event has a half-hour duration and runs from 6:00 until 12:00, logging in at 6:01 will give you the same 30-minute boost as you’d receive if you first logged in at 11:59.

You can see which events are active and how long you have left to participate by checking out the icons on the right side of the screen, since each has its own icon over by the icon for the daily’s leaderboard tournament. Clicking the icon shows your progress in the event, if applicable. You might also see a pop-up display when you log in to tell you which events are currently active, if any are.

While the most common way to encounter and enjoy these daily boosts is to play the game at the right time of day, you can also trigger these boosts by
completing longer-term event goals
. Higher levels in daily or weekly events often offer boosts as a milestone prize.

In the table below, you can find details about every daily boost event in Monopoly Go, including the goals and potential prizes for each.

Builder’s Bash

The price to upgrade your Monopoly Go building upgrades is reduced for the duration of the event. The least expensive building upgrades are discounted by 50%, while the most expensive upgrades are discounted by 10%. Especially as you increase your net worth, your cost to upgrade buildings increases significantly, so it’s worth waiting to build until a Builder’s Bash when you’re at a higher net worth level, to save as much cash as you can.

Cash Boost

This extremely short-term event (typically no more than 20 minutes or so) increases the amount of cash earned for any rent collected, prizes earned for event milestones, and Chance card cash totals will be increased, providing you with an easy way to earn extra cash for no extra work.

Cash Grab

For the duration of the event, Chance cards may offer the opportunity to play Cash Grab. You’ll tap the screen to catch a shower of falling Monopoly Go money, which is then multiplied by your dice roll multiplier and added to your bank.

Free Parking (Dice)

While this event is active, you’ll accumulate additional dice rolls by landing on any specified tiles around your Monopoly Go game boards. When you land on Free Parking during the event timer, you’ll earn any dice rolls you’ve accumulated so far

During this event, Scopely makes two gold stickers available for trade, which gold stickers usually are not. This presents a great chance to trade gold stickers with friends to complete some of your rarer sticker albums!

Your potential dice roll multipliers have been increased, removing lower value multipliers in exchange for some incredibly high ones, often up to a 500x multiplier! The multipliers made available to you are relative to your current dice total.

Landmark Rush

Fully upgrading a landmark on your current Monopoly Go board offers a reward, typically free cash and/or dice rolls. If possible, it’s best to wait to finish any game boards completely until this event, so you can earn extra rewards for something you were already doing!

Lucky Chance

Chance cards have a few additional options, such as giving more bonus dice rolls than Chance cards usually do, or even presenting the option to receive a few free dice rolls that don’t deduct from your own current total (though you’re locked into the dice roll multiplier you were using when you landed on that spot for each of the free rolls given to you).

Mega Heist

When you land on a Railroad tile while the Mega Heist boost is active and get the heist minigame, you’ll have much higher rewards available from the Heist. The lowest cash amount with the silver coin icons is bumped off the board and replaced with a gold bar multiplier worth roughly three times higher than the diamond ring multiplier. Mega Heists also tend to reward more points for any event that requires you to land on Railroad tiles, like daily leaderboard tournaments and occasional banner events.

Sticker Boom

Receive additional stickers from any sticker pack you open during the course of this event. Since these tend to happen on Sundays, you may be wise to wait to complete your final weekly quick goals until the Sticker Boom is active to get three additional stickers from the weekly purple sticker pack!

Rent Frenzy

Extra players are added to your Monopoly Go board, offering extra chances to collect rent and earn cash as you roll laps around your game board.

Roll Match

When you first log in during the Roll Match event, the game will show you two dice. If any of your dice rolls match these two dice precisely, you’ll earn a few free dice added to your current dice roll total.

Wheel Boost

Building the properties on your Monopoly Go board to hotels and landing them on them allows you to spin the Color Wheel regardless of when you’re playing. Triggering a Color Wheel while Wheel Boost is active grants you a second spin of said Color Wheel each time you’re able to spin it, offering an additional prize per completed monopoly you land on.

Durations on events may change depending on when they’re active and whether it’s a daily bonus or something you’ve unlocked manually through other event rewards. Either way, playing during the flash events in Monopoly Go is the best way possible to compound your earnings and get even more bang for your buck!
