There’s a lot to be said about the replay value of Baldur’s Gate 3. No matter how hard you try, there’s no way you can see all of the game’s content in one playthrough. The number of things that need to come together to get a particular ending is vast, and it includes decisions, characters, and at times even throwaway dialogue options.

One Year On, I’ve Finally Corrected My Mistakes In Baldur’s Gate 3
I made many mistakes in Baldur’s Gate 3, so my second playthrough was about making things right.
It’s no wonder that more people are playing it a year after its launch. While Baldur’s Gate 3 replays are usually based on changing characters, alignments, or even choosing different options, there are some lines that you may not want to cross even in multiple playthroughs. Some decisions that are too despicable even for an evil Dark Urge run.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Won’t Make These Decisions No Matter What
No matter what kind of character you’re playing as, there’s always that one thing you won’t ever do. Over on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Subreddit, andyyhs asked the very same question. They wanted to know some of the things that Baldur’s Gate 3 players would never do.
“I’ve seen a post about things people do in every run, (like slapping the hand or correcting Lae’zel’s pronunciation) but what about things you will never do?” they asked. “I’ll never convince Lae’zel to consume tadpoles, it’s just vile, she 100% would rather die than embrace illithid powers.”
It seems convincing your companions to swallow Illithid tadpoles is high on most players’ lists. While it may not have been such a big deal if it didn’t alter personalities and appearances, it seems nobody wants their favourite party members to turn into Mind Flayers. Some of the other comments were quite relatable to an extent.
A lot of players vowed that they would never give up the Gityanki egg to The Society of Brilliance, or will never let Gale sacrifice himself to destroy the Netherbrain. A few even said they’d never abandon Mayrina to her fate.
As expected, there were many who said they would “never let Wulbren Bongle survive.” A lot of people agreed with this and even discussed detailed strategies of how to kill him without turning the others hostile. It’s evident that he is the most hated character in the entire game.
To cap it off, a number of comments also mentioned that no matter what, they would never romance the Emperor. Not only is he slimy and tentacley, but all the deception is a major red flag for any relationship.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is the long-awaited next chapter in the Dungeons & Dragons-based series of RPGs. Developed by Divinity creator Larian Studios, it puts you in the middle of a mind flayer invasion of Faerûn, over a century after the events of its predecessor.
