Even though much is expected from Diablo 4, it only addresses some things while still focusing on its core story. As a result, there are a few unanswered questions after the end of the series. Some characters have future roles in the Sanctuary, while others need to answer questions about their past whereabouts.

Inarius’ escape from Mephisto’s domain is one of the most pressing questions the game asks. You can’t suggest Inarius broke through as Mephisto was weakened, and it’s not the first time Mephisto has been banished from his domain or weakened.

Constant hand waves on this during the games leads to an assumption that you’ll find an answer. However, more information on how Inarius escaped the domain remains a mystery, which results in speculations on what happened.

What means did they use to bring Lilith back to the Sanctuary? Was it just like her husband? And how easily can you get there from the magic prison pit? That’s unbeknown to Inarius, too, as he was in an actual jail. While “he broke out” is a reasonable answer, it’s not that simple.

Lingering Mysteries

• Lilith was expelled into the void, a place said to be impossible to break out of, but she has done it twice.
• Diablo 4 doesn’t disclose that beings can create waypoints from Heaven and Hell to the Sanctuary.

If it’s easy to break out of this void, like being summoned, it’s not a worthy prison.

It’s like the main antagonists came back to a super-jail from millennia without the proper explanation that’s needed in the series.

8 Which Characters Are Considered Canon?

Regarding canonizing characters, who are Diablo 4’s main characters? The series has five playable classes, each with a different story.

It would be something different for the sanctuary people if the Druid tribes or Rathma’s child saved them.

With different questions being asked, every sequel has a playable class in which they work together in their quests. Unfortunately, we won’t understand until we know the sequel.

When Deckard Cain was Horadrim’s last, he had some vitality. However, Lorath lost his first student to madness and the second one for reasons unbeknown to him. He isn’t doing well, and sadly, their orders may soon come to an end.

3 Where Is Neyrelle?

Neyrelle’s decision at the end of the game to depart with Mephisto’s soul stone is Diablo’s next story getaway. She imitates the actions of the Dark Wanderer and his journey to the east.

Traveling with a hateful soul isn’t healthy, and Neyrelle has exposed herself to immediate danger. She may need to find out where she’s heading. Besides, she’s living in isolation and chances are that Mephisto has control over her. She also appears to be traveling to the West. What’s there for her on the other side?

Like any other fantastic fantasy series, Diablo 4 has a map with two significant continents. The games also happen all over the continents. Unlike Diablo 1, set in Tristram, Diablo 2 and 3 span the entire globe. While Diablo 4 relegates to the right continent’s upper half.

1 What Was Nephalem’s Fate?
