The next Fortnite Chapter is now just days away, a new map, whole new set of weapons, a completely different world for the game. Until the trailer drops when downtime begins though, Epic likes to keep us in the dark. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t know anything about Fortnite Chapter 6. Thanks to some leaks and teases, we know quite a bit about what’s to come.
Thanks to Fortnite leaks, we have a good idea of what Fortnite Chapter 6 will look like. When exactly will it release in game though? We have a rough start time for when you can jump into the new Chapter and see everything that it has to offer.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Release Date
When exactly does the new Chapter begin? We have the rough schedule for how things are planned over the coming weeks for Fortnite. That starts with the current Fortnite season ending with an event on November 30th. Then, we’re expecting the game to go into downtime for Chapter 6. Before it returns, fully playable on December 1st.
In terms of timing, we’ll likely get a trailer and all official information starting just after the event. With just the downtime to analyse all the teases before the game comes back in full. The timing is quite similar to our last two season releases. It seems after some experimentation, Fortnite has settled on these quite short 4-season Chapters.
Leaks and Fortnite Chapter 6 Leaks
That’s when the update comes, but what can we expect to be in the first patch? Leakers have some key information about content that’s in the files already, indicating that it’s coming with the next major seasonal update to Fortnite. On top of that, Epic’s released a teaser image confirming one of the biggest rumours.
Japanese and Samurai Theme

One big part of the new Fortnite patch is going to be the Japanese theme. We’re expecting Samurai Skins in the Battle Pass and in the loot pool. We could even see the return of the Kinetic Blade, particularly powerful Fortnite Melee weapons from Chapter 4.
We’ll also see Oni masks on the map. These will be unlocked and grant you the special powers of each Oni. Comparable to the “loadout” weapons for a superhero we’ve had recently.
The Japanese theme has been confirmed by recent teaser art released by official Fortnite accounts too. We now know the game is going by the sub-title Hunters for Chapter 6 Season 1.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Weapons
Specific weapons are where things get a bit more mysterious. We’re expecting a mix of old and new. However, Epic often remakes the basic weapons for a new season. We get a new Tac, new Pump, new AR. Usually quite similar to the old one, but with some changes. We can expect some weapons close in principle to the existing loot pool, some returning weapons, and normally some crazy new additions too.

One of the biggest Fortnite Chapter 6 leaks recently has been the key art. Confirming a Godzilla collab is coming, but also a number of skins we can expect to see in the first season of Chapter 6!
The New Map
Outside of weapons, the new map is going to have the biggest impact on gameplay. Right now, we’re completely in the dark here. Unlike previous years, there’s not a major leak for the map yet. We could see one as we get closer to the new season start date though.
One POI we have some ideas about is a Purple forest. We don’t know much outside of it being a purple forest biome.

Given the leaked theme, we can expect some Japanese themed areas. The Mega City biome in Chapter 4 had similar theming, so this could be a clue to what the new map will look like. We could even get a collab POI with the rumored Fortnite Demon Slayer collab! It’ll be exciting to get a look at the fresh island in a few days.
