It turns out that you don’t need to go to a galaxy far (far!) away to get your hands on some Star Wars books, as you can grab quite a few of them at a big discount for Black Friday. Several books detailing the lore of the films and how those movies were made are now on sale.
A prime example here is Star Wars Timelines for $14.80 (was $50). For Star Wars historians, this is a very cool chronological guide to the major events of the series, covering the time before the High Republic and leading up to the end of the First Order in the sequel trilogy. Key moments are explored in detail here and arranged by era, so if you ever wanted to see how Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber ended up in Maz Kanata’s bar or how the Empire’s TIE Fighter evolved over the years, this is the book to have.
Sticking with modes of transport, you can also explore the iconic spaceships and cruisers of the galaxy in Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. Available for $20 (was $40), this book has over 100 cross-section illustrations that show the small details and inner workings of each vehicle. If you’re looking to get something for younger fans of the franchise, the Lego Star Wars Encyclopedia is a nice option for $11 (was $22) as it comes with a Darth Maul minifigure. There’s also Star Wars: How Not to Get Eaten by Ewoks and Other Galactic Survival Skills for $7.30 (was $15) in case you’d like to be prepared to survive in a hostile galaxy filled with bounty hunters, Sith lords, and Stormtroopers.
It’s worth pointing out that Amazon is currently having a Buy Two, Get One Free sale on books as well. The Star Wars books listed above are not eligible for this promotion, but you can find different ones for sale if you’re looking to score a bargain. There’s a lot on sale here, including novels, graphic novels, and encyclopedias, and we’ve listed several of them below. As a reminder, grab three items from the selection and you’ll get the lowest-cost product for free.
Star Wars scholars in particular can get some really good deals here, as two hefty books covering the making of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are on sale. These are luxurious tomes full of photos and fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the films. There’s also a collection of the storyboards that helped shape the original film trilogy, while the older Star Wars encyclopedia covering the original and prequel trilogies is on sale for under $85 (was $150). This a popular collection for fans of the Expanded Universe canon, as it predates the Disney purchase of Star Wars and covers The Clone Wars, radio dramas, comics, novels, cartoons, short stories, and video games from that time period.
