Melmetal And Bisharp Complete Deck Guide In Pokemon TCG Pocket

While most players tend to lean towards relying on ex cards to inflict massive damage, you can instead take a different approach with a Melmetal and Bisharp deck in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. Melmetal is able to withstand the strong attacks dealt by an opponent’s ex card, with its high defense and HP, and it has decent damage dealing capabilities.

Not using an ex card may bring you certain advantages, including more room for planning, while your opponent is prevented from taking a significant two-point lead. However, to make this deck work more efficiently, use your support cards to focus on taking down an opponent’s low HP cards first.

The Giovanni card might help you completely defeat the opponent at a crucial moment by increasing your attack slightly, and it can be obtained from the Mewto pack.

If you have an active Melmetal ready to attack, Sabrina will also be a vital card if you want to defeat a low HP Pokemon instead. You can obtain it from the Charizard pack. The rest of the supporting cards you need are easily obtainable from the shop.

You can substitute Snorlax for Wigglituff ex, as it can inflict sleep, which prevents an opponent from attacking, so you will have a chance to assign energy to your cards. You can replace the Pokedex with another X Speed, depending on the cards you have obtained.

Deck Strategy

Melmetal's Card Art in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Your main focus while playing this deck will be preparing your Melmetal for attack. It requires about four energies, but once it’s ready, your opponent will have a hard time stopping it.

Melmetal’s attack “Heavy Impact” does not cause it to lose energy, so you don’t have to reassign any energy. Melmetal’s Hard Coat negates the damage received, which will make your opponent want to pull their hair out.

While your Meltan is an active Pokemon, you can use its Amass move to gather extra energy every turn. You shouldn’t evolve your Meltan into Melmetal until you have gathered enough. If you have amassed enough energy and don’t have a Melmetal in your deck, you should retreat until you get one.

If your Meltan is about to get defeated, especially when your opponent is using a strong move, you should evolve it early to prevent it from dying, considering Melmetal’s strong defense.

Meltan’s attack deals 120 damage, which might not be enough to take down some strong ex cards. This is where your Sabrina comes in, and you can deploy the card to force the opponent to send out a low-level card, which you can easily defeat.

The Pokedex card will be very helpful in this deck, as you can check to make sure you are getting the crucial Sabrina or Melmetal cards anytime soon. This will help you make the timely decision to retreat.

If your opponent sends out powerful cards that can beat your Meltan before you are able to amass any energy, you should always retreat after using Amass once using X speed cards.

This is a chance for your tank cards like Snorlax to shine, you can deploy them to sustain some damage, while you continue to prepare your Melmetal or Bisharp.

If you are trying to take down an ex card with high HP, you should send out your Bisharp or Farfetch’d first to scrape off some damage and then call out your Melmetal during the next turn to finish it off.

Use a Giovanni card if necessary to increase damage slightly if the opponent has 130 HP left. However, Bisharp is strong enough to act as the main damage dealer if you have difficulty preparing your Melmetal during the battle.

Deck Match-Ups

Starmie ex in Genetic Apex in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Any Fire-type deck, notably Charizard ex, will spell trouble for the Melmetal deck, considering that you will receive additional damage from Fire attacks. However, it shouldn’t be too intimidating, especially if you have your Melmetal as an active Pokemon, which already negates damage by twenty as its active abilities.

So, you should play these matches with a more offensive mindset and try to take down an opponent’s Pokemon first when they are trying to prepare.

The Melmetal deck works very well against the Starmie ex deck, and you can one-shot these cards in a single turn if you use Giovanni. Decks that rely on luck, such as Exeggutor ex, Golurk, and Marowak ex, will also give your Melmetal more room to attack.
