Albus Paths is the latest entry to the RPG genre that has now opened closed beta testing in China. This futuristic tactical game began testing on November 18th and will be carrying on till November 24th, 2024.

Albus Paths combines strategic card battles with a rich narrative-driven experience. Set in the futuristic city of Senecio, the game centres around combating catastrophic “Magic Disasters” caused by the merging of the Phantom World with reality. The game will blend strategy, resource management, and narrative choice, while also offering an immersive storyline with stunning visuals.

You step into the role of a “Senior Tune Master,” tasked with leading Magic Armored Girls, who are specialists who harness magic to fight these disasters. The gameplay involves building and customizing a deck of characters, each with unique skills and abilities. As you progress, they can upgrade their cards, unlocking powerful synergies to tackle increasingly challenging scenarios.

The game also shares similarities to the anime-style RPG Blue Archive, which the other players also pointed out. The art style and core gameplay are kind of similar, so we can say it might be a healthy inspiration.

Albus Paths closed beta will be a limited file deletion and billing test, available on Android devices. From the info given, iOS users can still participate by using a PC simulator to access the game. You can access the store page here.
