If this happens, you might find yourself temporarily unable to get a replacement, leading to a soft lock situation.

A fishing pole is an essential tool for catching fish, which serves as both a reliable food source and a profitable item to sell for quick gold. So, if you happen to sell your first fishing pole, it is important to learn how to get another one in the game.
How To Get Another Fishing Pole
If, for some reason, you have sold your first fishing pole in the game, then you can get another from the Northdell trade shop on the farm. This shop is positioned between the fields southeast of your house.
Alternatively, if you have already discovered the windmill in the region, simply follow the road heading south, and you will arrive at the Northdell trade shop.
The Pokey Fishing Rod will restock at the farm trade shop every two in-game days. If you visit before the two-day restocking period is up, the rod will not be available for purchase yet.
The Pokey Fishing Rod costs 20 gold coins, so make sure you have enough saved up if you plan to repurchase it after selling your first one. Fortunately, the soft lock from not having a fishing pole only lasts for two in-game days, which is not a long wait.
If you are looking to speed up time, head back to your house or any location with a “Sleep” option. Your character will need to sleep three times to advance one in-game day.
To skip two full days and get the fishing pole restocked sooner, have your character sleep six times to pass the time quickly.
Once the two in-game days have passed, go to the Northdell trade shop, buy another fishing pole, and continue catching fish in the game.
