Amazon has plenty of video game adaptations in the works at the minute, including the likes of God of War, Fallout, and most recently, Mass Effect. There’s also a new Tomb Raider TV show currently in production too, with Flebag writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge set to both write and executive produce. It’s still early days though, as the show hadn’t even found its Lara Croft when it was announced.
Tomb Raider TV Show Reportedly In Talks To Cast Sophie Turner As Lara Croft
That hunt appears to have come to an end though, as after a round of screenings, Amazon appears to have gone with Game of Thrones actor Sophie Turner for the role. This is according to Deadline, which has reported that Turner has been chosen over other actors gunning for the role, which included the likes of Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody), Emma Corrin (The Crown), and Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049).
While this will be exciting news for anyone with their fingers crossed that Turner would come out victorious, it’s worth noting that nothing has been confirmed just yet. Deadline has reported that Turner is currently in negotiations with Amazon over the role right now, and that the two are yet to reach an agreement. Amazon itself also declined to comment on the report, though that is fairly expected.
