Disney’s parks have been considered number one for years, and with the announcements from the D23 events this year, it seems as though the Imagineers have been quietly working behind the scenes. Deadline reports that Villains Land alone will be the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history, with the new area currently expected to be the same size as Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios.

In addition to Villains Land, Walt Disney World announced several other new projects coming to the Orlando Disney resort. Animal Kingdom is also confirmed to be overhauling its DinoLand U.S.A. area into an area inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones, which will feature two brand-new attractions. Monsters Inc. will be coming to Hollywood Studios, which is expected to include a roller coaster, although further information has not yet been released.

Disneyland will also be expanding, bringing two new attractions to the Avengers Campus area at Disney California Adventure inspired by Iron Man and the Avengers. The resort also recently hinted that the popular nighttime parade “Paint the Night” could be returning next year, just in time for the resort’s 70th anniversary. Disney has finally confirmed some major projects coming to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World over the next few years, with Villains Land just one of many exciting additions for guests to look forward to.
