Former world champion and SKT T1 jungler Bengi is joining Dplus KIA (DK) as the head coach for the upcoming 2025 season.
Bengi to lead DK with a new coaching staff lineup
With the offseason underway, there have been several rumors in the LCK, including some of the players from top teams such as HLE, Gen.G, KT, and more.
While players are yet to be confirmed, DK has made big changes to its coaching staff, bringing in Bengi as the head coach. Officially announced by the team, he will be assisted by coaches PoohManDu and Hachan, bringing in lots of expertise and leading the team in the 2025 season.
Additionally, former professional player Khan was also announced as an adviser, marking his return to the organization after his last stint as the starting top laner in 2021.
“We are thrilled to introduce Head Coach Bengi (Bae Seong-woong), Coach PoohManDu (Lee Jeong-hyeon) and Coach Hachani (Ha Seung-chan) of the Dplus KIA LoL team for 2025,” said DK in their announcement on X. “We look forward to seeing the glory and expertise that they has built over the years shine even brighter at Dplus KIA. Let’s give a big applause to them as they will strongly lead our players through this new phase of change.”
Decades of professional experience
Both Bengi and PoohManDu have spent the past few years working as coaches on some of the best Korean teams. Bengi stayed with T1 from 2018 to 2023, becoming head coach in the 2022 season after Kim “moment” Ji-hwan was booted from the team. He left T1 in July of 2023.
PoohManDu, on the other hand, worked with a series of teams, including Vici Gaming, Misfits Gaming, and Sengoku Gaming. He joined DWG for the 2021 season and is now coming back after three years of hiatus. Hachani has been promoted from the DK Challengers team after working with the organization since the end of 2020.
