Final Fantasy 14‘s first major content update since the release of Dawntrail has just released, bringing with it a plethora of new content. Among the additions is an extension of the game’s Main Scenario Quests, including a new level 100 dungeon, the Yuweyawata Field Station. The locale promises to reveal more about Zoraal Ja’s past and the events that occurred before the dome appeared over the Tonawawtan village, transforming it into Heritage Found.

Lindblum Zaghnal – Boss Overview
A monstrous boar with numerous horns protruding from its face, the Lindblum Zaghnal takes full advantage of its environment to assault players with a variety of lightning-based attacks. Combining brute strength with surging lightning, players will need to keep an eye on both the boss and the arena itself to successfully handle the fight’s deadly mechanics. The Lindblum Zaghnal’s major abilities are:
Attack Name |
Explanation |
---|---|
Electrical Overloard |
Unavoidable party-wide damage. |
Gore |
The boss charges at a location, impaling its horns into the wall or ground. A different mechanic executes depending on where the boss strikes. When striking the wall, a chunk of electrope begins emitting several line attacks in quick succession while the boss casts Caber Toss. As Caber Toss finishes casting, the boss will fling the chunk into the arena, striking a large area, before the line attacks resume again while the boss itself is free to attack players. When striking the ground, Raw Electrope begins spawning around the arena, which will slowly charge up a bar located above them. Players must destroy the Raw Electrope before they can finish charging while dodging stray lightning that strikes around the arena. |
Lightning Storm |
Small area of effect attacks tracking each player’s location. |
Overseer Kanilokka – Boss Overview
Subordinate to Zoraal Ja, Overseer Kanilokka attacks players with a variety of soul-based attacks befitting his station. Reminiscent of Aulus mal Asina from the level 70 dungeon Ala Mhigo, players will need to be quick on their feet to dodge Kanilokka’s rapid onslaught of sweeping ghosts during Free Spirits. The full list of attacks Overseer Kanilokka uses includes:
Attack Name |
Explanation |
---|---|
Dark Souls |
A heavy-hitting attack on the boss’ current target. Tanks should handle this attack using defensive abilities like Rampart. |
Free Spirits |
Unavoidable party-wide damage, followed by a rapid series of curving attacks that must be dodged. |
Phantom Flood |
A large attack leaving only a small area in the center of the arena safe. |
Dark II |
A set of conal attacks hitting in a ring around the boss. A second wave of attacks hits shortly after in the previously safe locations. |
Lost Hope |
Applies a misdirection debuff to all players, restricting movement to the direction of the spinning hand above characters’ heads. Players must navigate themselves between the damaging areas created by Phantom Flood while moving toward the edge of the room. |
Bloodburst |
Unavoidable party-wide damage. |

Lunipyati – Boss Overview
A Tural Vidraal, like the serpent Valigarmaanda fought as part of the Dawntrail Main Scenario Quest, Lunipyati strikes with ferocity befitting its title. Like the Linblum Zaghnal before it, Lunipyati makes use of the arena itself to confront players, creating situations where one false step can lead to an instant defeat. Major mechanics to look out for are:
Attack Name |
Explanation |
---|---|
Raging Claw |
Repeated strikes, hitting everything in front of the boss. |
Leporine Loaf |
Unavoidable party-wide damage that leaves only the center of the arena safe, followed by a wide variety of attacks in quick succession. Arcing red arrows will launch Boulder Dance attacks, creating damaging zones at both the start and end of every arrow. Curving lines on the ground will be struck with a series of sequential circular explosions after a short duration. |
Crater Carve |
A large attack, hitting the center of the arena, permanently deleting it from play. |
Beastly Roar |
Unavoidable damage that hits harder the closer the player is to the targeted location. A series of eruptions rapidly circle around the arena immediately after. |
Sonic Howl |
Unavoidable party-wide damage. |
Yuweyawata Field Station Dungeon Rewards
Chests found throughout the dungeon and after defeating each boss reward players with items from the Yuweyawata set. At item level 705, these items aren’t expected to be part of best-in-slot lists for any form of content, but they may still be an upgrade for players just reaching level 100 — or those looking for some easy gear for alternate jobs. Additionally, the set uses unique new armor models rather than recoloring existing equipment, which can make them the perfect piece for glamour enthusiasts to add to their collection.
