This Asus Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 gaming laptop has an absurdly low price now

This is a first for me – I’ve never seen the price of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 gaming laptop drop this low before, but this Best Buy gaming laptop deal does indeed enable you to scoop up an Asus TUF 15.6-inch machine for just $999.99, saving you a huge $400 on the usual price. Not only that, but this Asus TUF machine is also backed up by a decent spec elsewhere, including an Intel Core i7 CPU and a 144Hz screen.

You’re normally lucky to get an entry-level Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU in a laptop that costs under a grand, with the RTX 4070 usually reserved for the best gaming laptop designs in the $1,500 ballpark. That’s what makes this particular Asus laptop deal so tempting, as the RTX 4070 will enable you to run the latest games at top settings on the 1080p screen, even with ray tracing enabled, particularly if you enlist some help from Nvidia DLSS 3 and frame generation.

Of course, the mobile RTX 4070 isn’t quite as potent as the desktop RTX 4070, but it’s still a powerful GPU. It comes equipped with 4,608 CUDA cores, which is significantly more than the 3,072 found in the mobile RTX 4060, and gives this GPU room to stretch its legs in graphically demanding games. It’s also backed up by 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM attached to a 128-bit memory interface, which is again restricted compared to the 12GB/192-bit setup of the desktop RTX 4070, but it’s plenty for playing games on this laptop’s 1,920 x 1,080 screen.

What’s more, the extra power of the RTX 4070 compared to the RTX 4060 will really enable you to up your settings. We’ve seen average frame rates go beyond 100fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p with the Ultra ray tracing preset using this GPU, thanks to DLSS 3, and we’ve also seen it run Total War: Warhammer 3 at 93fps using the Ultra settings at 93fps. If you drop the settings a little bit, you’ll have no trouble running some games in sync with the screen’s smooth 144Hz refresh rate.

You even get a decent CPU, with the Core i7 13620H giving you six P-Cores that can boost to up to 4.9GHz, which are the important ones for gaming, as well as an extra four power-efficient E-Cores to help the CPU in multi-threaded work such as video encoding. It’s not a 24-core monster, such as the Core i9 14900HX, but it’s fine for gaming.

We’re also pleased to see that you get a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD with this laptop, giving you plenty of space to install a few games. Even now, we often see laptops coming with just 500GB SSDs, so this is a solid inclusion at this price. The same also goes for the 16GB of DDR5 RAM. Ideally, you want 32GB in a new machine now, but 16GB is still plenty for gaming, and again many cut-price laptops come with a miserly 8GB of RAM. On the plus side, the RAM is also supplied on SODIMMs, rather than being soldered to the motherboard, so you’re able to upgrade it to 32GB in the future.

All in all, this is a fantastic price for the specs of this gaming laptop – it’s a genuinely fast gaming machine for under a grand. To take advantage of this deal, just click on this link here.
