Fans are anxiously waiting for Terraria‘s next update, which promises to be another sizable content drop. As has become tradition for Terraria, the game is crossing over with another indie hit as part of this update.
Terraria‘s next update promises to be big, which is typical for the game—even in its smaller updates. Among the highlights are overhauls for boss music, a vast suite of quality-of-life changes, new whips and armors, and a heaping host of vanity items. Among the recent reveals are a revamped weather system, a new type of healing potion, and a tweak to the reforging system that’ll help prevent players from accidentally skipping desirable modifiers.

What Fans Can Expect From Terraria’s Dead Cells Crossover
Along with these features, Re-Logic will be bringing another indie crossover to Terraria. The title has seen a long history of cross-promotion with other indie games, including Don’t Starve Together, Dungeon Defenders II, and Stardew Valley. These crossovers typically involve content coming to both games; Don’t Starve Together now has the Eye of Cthulhu in-game, while Terraria got itself a Deerclops boss. Next in line for this treatment is Dead Cells, and Re-Logic has been forthcoming about the features poised for this collaboration. The majority of these details have been given by Re-Logic’s State of the Game posts on the official Terraria forums, and much of the aggregation has been done by leading Terraria YouTuber ChippyGaming and the Terraria wiki.
Vanity Items And Furniture from Dead Cells
A new costume was a sure bet for Terraria‘s crossover with Dead Cells, and it looks like Re-Logic will deliver. In a post to Terraria‘s subreddit, Redigit, creator of Terraria and head of Re-Logic, posted a spoiler for a Beheaded costume. This depiction of Dead Cells‘ protagonist is in the same spoiler as a number of furniture items, including the new hanging flask—which can store items within for display.
Another furniture item included in this crossover will be Dead Cells‘ Health Fountain. Though furniture, it’ll be far from aesthetic; the Health Fountain will buff nearby players, though the nature of that buff is unclear. In their home game, Health Fountains can be used to refill the player’s Health Flask—tying the structure to Dead Cells‘ roguelike mechanics. This particular teaser was revealed on the Terraria forums by Redigit, and slipped into a screenshot as many reveals have been thus far.
New Terraria Weapons from Dead Cells
A few of Dead Cells‘ many weapons will arrive in Terraria, with each of the game’s four classes getting a weapon option. Melee characters will get the Flint, which was also shown off in Redigit’s Reddit post. Rangers will be best suited to the Killing Deck, while mages will get the Ram Rune. Summoners, who have been seeing increasing parity compared to other classes, will be able to summon a Mushroom Boi minion using the Mushroom Staff. The Mushroom Boi is a pet from Dead Cells‘ Bad Seed DLC, and its Terraria counterpart will receive a special aesthetic trait in the form of eyes that glow in the dark.
Not only will the core classes each be getting a weapon, but so will the offshoot Sentry class. The Sentry class has long been, more or less, a subclass within Terraria‘s Summoner class. However, the Old Ones’ Army event, which was itself brought in by an indie collaboration, brought the Sentry into its own. The Dead Cells crossover will bring that game’s Barnacle turret.
It’s possible that more items could come to Terraria as part of this crossover, especially considering that most of the game’s collaborations include a boss or event. Moreover, it’s unknown as to how these items will be acquired, though players will swiftly find out when 1.4.5 finally arrives.
