Key Takeaways
- Ghost powers are a feature of the Life & Death expansion
- Use them to do your chores, travel quickly, and much more.
- Powers can be used for good or evil.
So, you’ve died. Our sincere condolences. No doubt how it happened was very solemn and serious and not at all keeping in the style of The Sims 4 deaths. But even if you were crushed to death by a Murphy bed, or died from being too angry at your neighbor, Death is hardly the end.

10
Dispeller
Dis Spell Is Good Spell
Cleaning up is such a mortal thing to do. No self-respecting ghost would bother with it. Who has time to clean a toilet or wash a dish when there’s spooky fun to be had? With Dispeller, no ghost will have to do chores again.
The Dispeller power allows for ghosts to instantly tidy up. With a wave of their hands and a bit of ghostly power, slime and muck vanish. It isn’t the flashiest of powers but it’s by far one of the most practical. Dispeller makes the house tidier, and that makes ghosts happier. Happy haunt, happy life, right?
9
Transcendent Woohoo
Out Of This (Nether) World
It wouldn’t be the Sims without a new woohoo spot and with Transcendent woohoo, ghosts can essentially woohoo anywhere. Transcendent woohoo allows a ghost to make their woohoo partner into a ghost temporarily.
Your partner will go back to normal once the deed is done. Don’t worry.
The two ghosts will then float into the air and pop into the nearest piece of furniture to get…intimate. Hey, don’t come knocking if the sofa is knocking, right? This power is delightfully silly, and offers plenty of opportunities for ghosts to cause a little mischief while getting a little loving.
8
Ghostly Transverse
Never Be Stuck In Traffic Again
While The Sims 4’s neighborhoods might not be as big as others, they can still be a pain to get around if a Sim is in a hurry. For those ghosts who really can’t take the time to hover across the map, Ghostly Transverse has them covered.

They’re a little sporadic, but can you find all 15 different types of axolotls in The Sims 4: Lovestruck?
Ghostly Transverse allows ghosts to teleport to a location with a mere twist and a turn. This could be very useful for catching a specific townie before they wander off, or saving time while hunting down collectables.
7
Spooky Spectacle
Super Spooky Smash
Sure, these other ghost powers are fun and all. But have you ever had the pleasure of making a really loud noise? We mean a really loud, big ol’ clattering noise. The kind that freaks out passersby.
With the Spooky Spectacle power, malicious ghosts can now do just that. This noise will unsettle living Sims around them and amuse the ghost. Most of the malicious powers are designed to be more annoying than actually evil (it’s still the Sims after all). This one is the most mildly annoying of all, and that makes it perfect.
6
Levitator
Use The Force (Kind Of)
There may be a new few careers in Life and Death, but they aren’t the only way a ghost can make money. Those with the Levitator power can harass unsuspecting mortals into giving them money. How? By just throwing them around with their mind, of course.
Levitator allows ghosts to lift Sims in the air and shake them upside down, freeing their simoleons for the taking. Sims, understandably, won’t like this, but it is very funny to watch them flail around in the air. Plus, it gives simoleons, and the cost of living isn’t going down, even for ghosts.
5
Devourer
Om Nom Nom
Managing your Sim’s needs can be a bit of a pain, especially when you just want to try on nice clothes or wreak havoc in the town. Sims are seemingly always in need of a bath or some food or to go to bed. Lame. For ghost sims with the Devourer ability, they can now take care of their moods…in a bit of a nasty way.

Object Manipulation
Listen To The Music Of The Night
Moving things around doesn’t stop at Sims. Malicious ghosts can also move inanimate objects around. Object Manipulation allows for a ghost to fly into something and manipulate it using their powers.
A number of objects are open to this possession, but the best objects to possess are probably musical instruments. This allows for ghosts to play some supremely creepy music that is perfect for freaking living Sims out. Plus, it looks cool as heck when a violin goes floating along playing music. Summon your inner Phantom of the Opera and make some spooky tunes.
3
Powerful Endurance
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop
Powerful Endurance is one of the most powerful ghost powers in the game – and it is incredibly simple. The Powerful Endurance ability means that all other abilities use less power when casting them. In other words, it leaves more power for other spells.
This is perfect for the economical ghost. With so many new powers that are useful, you might quickly run out of energy while casting them all. While power does generate over time, this can be a bit of a bummer. With Powerful Endurance ghosts won’t run out of power easily, allowing for more fun and more spookiness.
2
Altruistic Caregiver
Blessings Be Upon Ye
For a ghost that has dedicated their afterlife to helping the living, no power is more powerful than the Altruistic Caregiver ability. This power allows them to bless a living sim with two powerful gifts. The first is an immediate boost to their needs, which could be convenient in more dire situations.

The second is that Altruistic Caregiver lengthens a Sim’s life span. For a Sim who may be on the verge of dying of old age, or simply fears growing old, this ability will give them more precious time. Death comes for every Sim in the end, but the Altruistic Caregiver ability allows ghosts to say “not today” to Death.

Grim’s Ride Or Die
A Totally Grim Bestie
In life, it is often not what you know, but who you know. It’s the same in death too. Grim’s Ride or Die is an advanced power that gives ghosts the ability to automatically save a Sim from death.
This power is both very funny and very useful. A ghost with the Grim’s Ride or Die ability can just walk right up to the Grim Reaper and give him a fist bump. Grim will respond in kind, and he’ll save the deceased Sim from final death, purely out of friendship. The Sim will then return to life perfectly fine. What a bro.
