Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a few surprise cameos up its sleeve, but one of them isn’t going down so well with the community.
Spoilers for The Veilguard.
When you first meet the Grey Wardens, they’ll threaten to arrest you and dismiss your claims that the Elven gods have returned, refusing to believe that it’s why the Blight is rapidly escalating. But like a knight in shining moustache, Dorian sweeps in to save the day.
If you haven’t played Inqusition (for one, fix that), Dorian is a fan-favourite, openly gay companion. But his new look in The Veilguard isn’t nearly as striking, as he has dropped the iconic moustache and shaved off the sides of his head, now sporting a mullet.
Some Fans Didn’t Even Realise It Was Dorian
“Genuinely the most cursed character cameo in the entire franchise,” one fan commented. “The mods can’t come fast enough. Whoever did this, JAIL.”
I took a look online, and I’m sorry to report, no such mod exists. You’re stuck with mullet-man Dorian for now, but it’s early days. I’m sure someone will swoop in with a redesign closer to his Inquisition look soon enough.
It’s giving early access Gale vs final Gale.
“It’s like they scheduled someone who has never seen Dorian, or who hated Dorian, to make him in the [character creator] in half an hour and that’s all the time they had,” another comment reads.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Has Some Huge Cameos
Dragon Age fans are already spotting some familiar faces in The Veilguard.
“Sure ten years have passed, but it shouldn’t be a complete drastic change where the entire skeletal structure underneath looks completely different!” the original poster said. “DAV Dorian looks like it could be a cousin. Only his nose looks similar, and [in my opinion, Dorian would’ve been so CU*TY with his looks if he’s gotten older, not a mullet.”
At least it’s just a cameo, eh? On the upside, Harding, Isabela, Varric, and Solas have all fared better in the transition from Inquisition. Just a shame that Dorian lost his rizz (sorry).
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the long-awaited fourth game in the fantasy RPG series from BioWare formerly known as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. A direct sequel to Inquisition, it focuses on red lyrium and Solas, the aforementioned Dread Wolf.
