How to Solve the Dellamorte Estates Puzzle in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Every major area of Dragon Age: The Veilguard features treasure chests. Some are small, some are big, and a few treasure chests are important enough that they appear on the map as collectibles.

Some chests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are even rarer, and contain unique weapons and equipment you don’t need to upgrade. You can find one of the two unique Treviso chests in an area called the Dellamorte Estates, but you’ll need to solve an unusual puzzle if you want to open it.

How to Reach the Dellamorte Estates Puzzle

Dragon Age Veilguard Dellamorte Approach

The first thing you need to do to reach the Dellamorte Estates is collect the companion Lucanis. Your first trip to Treviso is very linear, and you won’t be able to properly explore it until after you complete the quest “Sea of Blood.”

Once Treviso is available for exploration, take the zipline east from the Crows hideout, then jump down the trellis ladder and cross the bridge straight ahead. Go east through the alley and you should come across a beacon. Go across another bridge and keep going east until you reach a gravel road surrounded by trees. Turn north and follow the path until you reach the Dellamorte Estates courtyard.

How to Solve the Treviso Chest Puzzle

This puzzle relies heavily on Spite’s Reach, Lucanis’ special out-of-combat ability. You don’t need him in the active party, but you do need to recruit him. Luckily, there’s no way to reach this puzzle before he’s on the team.

The goal of this puzzle is to open a gate on the north side of the courtyard. The gate will open once four moveable statues are facing the right direction. To know what the right direction is, look for veil instabilities next to each of the four statues, and then use Spite’s Reach on them. This will conjure four Fade statues that all point in specific directions. Once all four real statues are facing the direction the Fade statues are pointing, the gate will open.

  • One statue is to the west, next to the canal.
  • One statue is in the northwest corner, next to the gate.
  • One statue is in the northeast corner, up some stairs.
  • One statue is on the east wall, behind a second gate.

To open up the second gate, you’ll need to pull three levers. Each one is on a platform behind the three winged statues in the middle of the courtyard. You can use Spite’s Reach to summon statue hands, and then use them to climb up to the levers. You can also reach the two lower levers by jumping, but the one on the east platform is too high.

Once you point all four statues in the right direction, the gate on the north wall will open. You can then collect resources and treasure, including the unique treasure in the large chest. This item may be Jenny’s Belt, a reference to the Red Jennys of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
