The Best Field Upgrades In Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6

Field Upgrades in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 work more or less the same as recent entries in the series but with some notable additions. Field Upgrades can range from dramatically changing the game for you and your teammates, to being minor conveniences that keep you going just a little bit longer.

Need more Black Ops 6 in your life? These games are the perfect squadmates to go along with it.

In the right situation, every Field Upgrade is going to shine. But, usually in relation to their recharge rate, some Field Upgrades are more powerful than others. When used well, the best Field Upgrades can completely change the course of a match, transforming certain defeat into a surprising victory.

Acoustic Amp

Personal Audio Amplifier

The Acoustic Amp is, by no means, useless. It’s a nice little personal bonus that is going to increase your awareness and enable you to stop enemy flankers. For enemy teams utilizing Ghost and/or Ninja, it’s going to have increased value.

But, in terms of overall benefit directly from the Field Upgrade, the Acoustic Amp is the lowest of all of them. It can help to net you a few kills and protect your weak spots, but it’s still going to require good tactics and gunplay, separate from the Field Upgrade.

10

Morphine Injector

Get Downed Instead Of Eliminated

The Morphine Injector is a wildly situational Field Upgrade. In a situation where you’re behind cover, it could have some value. This is especially true in modes where you don’t respawn, like Search and Destroy.

But most of the time in a mode like Team Deathmatch or Hardpoint, you’re going to get knocked, the enemy is going to be momentarily puzzled as to why you haven’t died, and they’re going to finish you.

9

Tactical Insertion

Create Your Next Respawn Location

The Tactical Insertion can set you up for a brilliant next life if you’ve got a good plan in place. Stick is somewhere where you’ll have easy access to an enemy flank in your next life, and create a massive problem for them upon respawning.

The only issue with it is that it’s also highly situational. There are going to be large sections of time throughout a match where the Tactical Insertion is not particularly helpful, and you can accidentally create problematic situations for yourself just as much as your enemies.

8

War Cry

Increase Movement Speed And Health Regen For Yourself And Nearby Allies

War Cry would be lower on this list if it only affected you, but the fact that it has the same effect on nearby allies means you can make a little War Party with you and your teammates storming into an area and being difficult to take down.

The value of this Field Upgrade is going to depend a bit on you, but a bit on your allies as well, which increases its value if you’re part of a premade squad. If you can coordinate with teammates and make sure you’re getting the most out of it, all increasing your movement speed and regen together, it can be quite good.

7

Neurogas

Toxic Gas Trap

Trap Fields Upgrades are very convenient, but this loses out to the Spring Mine simply because this trap usually, but not always, requires further action to kill the enemy. But, that doesn’t mean that the Neurogas is useless, by any means.

It’s still a great way to watch your flank or create some kind of alert in a certain area. Enemies hit by this are going to have a very difficult time effectively fighting back, and it can much more easily hit more than one target at a time compared to the Spring Mine.

6

Assault Pack

Resupply Yourself And Allies

The Assault Pack in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

This is primarily useful for resupplying Tacticals and Lethals, but in some longer stretches of life, it can be useful to resupply ammunition, as well. These are extremely straightforward, and their value is easy to determine; it is exactly what you do with what they supply you.

What’s nice about the Assault Pack is that it lasts for quite a long while, resupplying you and your teammates for the majority of the match, provided an enemy doesn’t decide to destroy it.

5

Signal Lure

The Signal Lure is a unique Field Upgrade in that it is a detriment to you but for a good reason. This is going to more or less make every enemy focus on you if they’re anywhere in your proximity.

But, for each enemy you kill, you’re going to get an extra score for your efforts. It’s a great way to speed through your Scorestreaks, provided you can survive the onslaught you’re bringing upon yourself.

4

Sleeper Agent

Disguise Yourself As An Ally To Enemies

This is one of the more unique Field Upgrades in Black Ops 6, and you’re going to have times with this where it works beautifully, and you’re going to have times when it fails spectacularly, too.

You may want to read this highly classified intel before playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6.

At its best, Sleeper Agent allows you to get in the thick of the enemy team and dispatch them without contest. It’s especially great in the Kill Order mode, allowing you to get right on the High Value Target and give them the worst (and last) surprise of their life.

3

Scrambler

Disrupt Enemy Minimaps And Electronics In Range

The Scrambler is a great little piece of equipment, and the value of it increases as your map knowledge does. The Scrambler does a great job of making the enemy’s life much more difficult, particularly with minimap disruption.

The problem is, once the enemy sees the Scrambler is out, they know where to start looking for it. But, the better your map knowledge gets, the more spots you’re going to find to put the Scrambler that it’ll be more difficult for the enemy to find, but still have some use.

2

Spring Mine

An Explosive Surprise

The Spring Mine in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

The Spring Mine is the best combo offensive/defensive Field Upgrade in the game, capable of killing one or more enemies outright. It’s not nearly as easy to dodge as the Proximity Mines of the past but still has quite a good blast radius.

Once you get the hang of placing these in spots where enemies can’t see it until it’s far, far too late, you’re going to get a few extra kills every match. Switch up your placement throughout the match, and the enemy isn’t going to be able to adjust.

1

Trophy System

Disable Incoming Tacticals And Lethals

The Trophy System is the best entirely defensive Field Upgrade in the game and can force enemies to win a gunfight instead of taking an area with equipment. This is going to make a humongous difference in Hardpoint, in particular.

Placing the Trophy System in the right spot is going to be paramount; it has to be somewhere that it’ll still eat enemy projectiles, but not easily in their line of sight for them to simply shoot it right away.
