Black Ops 6 Continues a Bad Tradition That Has Plagued CoD For Years

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been a wild ride for fans, the experience has been far from perfect. Some of the franchise’s biggest pitfalls still seem to be present here, which has held the game back a bit. Specifically, Call of Duty‘s multiplayer spawns are once again all over the place. It may not completely ruin the game’s multiplayer but Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 could definitely use a bit of an upgrade in that department.

Almost every single match, players are discovering that spawns are either impossible to predict or put players in a bad situation. This has been an issue for many Call of Duty titles over the years, but some players feel like this may be its worst yet. So, hopefully, Treyarch has plans to fix it in the future. Because if it continues like this, some players may turn their backs on Black Ops 6‘s multiplayer for the time being.

Despite the success of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s launch, the title makes it clear that the always online approach of CoD comes with huge downsides.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Has a Spawn Problem

Black Ops 6’s Spawns Make No Sense

Players jumping into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s multiplayer have discovered many issues with the game’s spawn points. Since these maps are all brand-new, no one really knows exactly how they will work. So, predicting enemy spawn points would have already been an issue. But the way that these spawns work has turned that issue into something even worse. And many players have aired their grievances about it.

Black Ops 6 players have found that they are often spawned pretty close to where they die, in direct line-of-sight to their killer, at the exact same respawn point, near spawn-campers, or in completely random places altogether. And since the player is spawning like this, so are their enemies. This means that unless they are quick on their toes, they may respawn again pretty shortly after their last, making for an endless loop of death. To make matters worse, teams seldom switch spawn sides, which makes for some very annoying situations.

Spawning Issues Have Been a Part of Call of Duty Forever

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is hardly the first entry in the franchise to have messed up spawns, especially at launch. Last year, many fans found that Modern Warfare 3‘s spawning issues were too many to count, with some maps being temporarily removed because of it. However, some believe that this year’s title may be the worst yet. There were complaints about how it worked back during the beta, and with the game’s official release, those complaints have only gotten louder.

It is not entirely clear how Call of Duty dictates where players spawn, but as of now, it seems like it may not be working as intended. The game should be putting players in safer spots, switching team spawn sides, and ensuring players have enough time to acclimate to their surroundings before they are taken out once more. They should not have to worry about dying immediately after spawning, yet currently, that is a very real concern. With a game like Call of Duty, it is likely very complicated to nail down, but hopefully the studio is trying.

The studio has said it is working on fixing an issue where players would automatically spawn rather than spectating when joining a match. While that is great to hear, the other spawning issues have yet to be addressed. Players do not want to get stuck in these endless death loops, and the way these spawns work has made the entire experience a bit aggravating for many. Yet, as of now, there is no news when Treyarch will be able to fix things, so players will just have to wait and see.
