A live-action Tomb Raider TV show has been swirling around at Amazon for a couple of years now, and it sounds like the series might be honing in on its future Lara Croft. Deadline reports that Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner as well as Murder on the Orient Express’ Lucy Boynton are currently in the running for the iconic video game role.

The show’s script was written by Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and ordered by Amazon earlier this year. Turner and Boynton are now set to do screen tests for Lara Croft, though it’s possible others could be in the mix as well. Deadline reports that Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire) are also on a “wishlist” of potential recruits for the gun-wielding researcher.

Following her breakout role on Game of Thrones as Sansa Stark, Turner picked up several movie roles including, most notably ,Jean Grey in both X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. She’s currently starring in the British crime drama series Joan. Boynton, meanwhile, has appeared in Bohemian Rhapsody, The Pale Blue Eye, and Barbie, while also playing Astrid Sloan in the comedy drama The Politician.

One of the longest-running series in gaming, Tomb Raider has already had a number of on-screen adaptations. There were two movies in the early 2000s starring Angelina Jolie and a reboot in 2018 starring Alicia Vikander as the titular hero. The movie made a decent amount at the box office but didn’t lead to any direct sequels.

Tomb Raider has also recently been leveraged into a less-than-stellar animated series on Netflix. The games are also going full steam ahead with remastered trilogies of the original six games as well as ongoing work on a blockbuster sequel at Crystal Dynamics. That entry doesn’t yet have a release date, though Amazon has already confirmed there won’t be any story overlap with its upcoming adaptation.
