ZERO X AND PTE. LTD has announced the shutdown of its thrilling strategy game, Ragnarok: Monster World, scheduled for December 30, 2025. First launched on October 1, 2024, but the title is ending service after just a year due to financial challenges.

To my surprise, it turned out to be a shutdown news instead of a new addition to the Ragnarok franchise. For those unfamiliar, Ragnarok: Monster World is a real-time strategy title set in the popular Ragnarok Online universe. Here, you can collect monsters, craft battle decks, upgrade to better classes, and take part in PvP battles.
Unfortunately, Ragnarok: Monster World team announced via X (formerly known as Twitter) that the game would shut down on December 30, stating, “We’ve done our very best to keep the project alive, but in recent months, we’ve faced financial challenges that made operations increasingly difficult.“
Players can download the game until November 6, and enjoy it till December 29 before closure
Following the announcement, all in-app purchases and blockchain-related reward distributions have been suspended. You can still access the game until December 29, after which the wallet, DEX, and NFT marketplace will be closed. Starting November 6, the game will also be removed from app stores, with all servers and blockchain connections permanently shut down on December 29.
While the shutdown is sad, the reaction from fans is not very positive, as many accused the devs of pulling a rug on both players and investors, expressing their frustration. Some fans even said, “What a disgrace for the IP. You guys tarnished it,” while others demanded answers, asking, “What are you planning to do with our monster and rupe tokens in the Ronin wallet?“
