This continues with their latest rendition of this, the Catch Mastery: Archen Event, combining both returning features from previous events and new ones debuting for the first time.

The Catch Mastery: Archen Event will only be taking place over the course of one day, active on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 10am local time to 8pm local time. Although it’ll be brief, this event will be packed with tons of features and bonuses; read our complete guide below to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Featured Pokemon: Archen
Archen will be the featured Pokemon for this Catch Mastery Event, coming with several bonuses and features centered around this specific Pokemon. First, and most notably, you will have increased chances of encountering a Shiny Archen throughout this event.
You will have many opportunities to encounter Archen during this event, mainly through Event Field Research Tasks, requiring you to catch Pokemon using accurate throws. Collect these Field Research Tasks from different PokeStops, each rewarding you with an Archen encounter when completed.
Event Wild Encounter Pokemon
During this event, there will be a couple of Pokemon that spawn more frequently in the wild, both Omanyte and Kabuto. In addition to this, both of these Pokemon will have increased chances of being Shiny during the hours of this event.

Event Research
Free Timed Research
All players who log in during the Catch Mastery: Archen Event will be granted access to free Timed Research. Catch different Rock-type Pokemon to complete this Timed Research, rewarding you with a total of 40 Archen encounters for its completion.
Paid Timed Research
You will also have the option of purchasing additional Timed Research for this event, costing $2.00 USD at the Pokemon Go in-game shop. Completing this Timed Research will provide you with an additional 40 Archen encounters.
