Tag Teams are a major theme in Sun & Moon, especially among the most expensive Unified Minds cards.

Unbroken Bonds features a wonderful blend of Pokemon partners depicted during some of their most serene moments on Alola. While combat and action are often the focus, the best Unbroken Bonds cards focus more on the quiet moments we share with our friends outside of battle.

Cards are ordered according to their market price on TCGplayer, which is subject to change.

Updated March 14, 2025, by Andrew Scariati: Unbroken Bond’s best cards continue to rise in value, following the rest of the Pokemon TCG modern card market. While some of the best Unbroken Bonds chase cards remain in the same spots, values have shifted dramatically as many cards continue to rise.

12

Reshiram & Charizard GX (Alternate Full Art) – $42.51

A Fiery Dragon Family

The Unbroken Bonds Reshiram&Charizard GX from the Pokemon TCG.

Charizard is always a staple among the most expensive cards in any set that includes this iconic Pokemon. Whether it’s among the most expensive cards in Darkness Ablaze or taking the crown for the base set’s most valuable starter, Charizard is always desirable.

Reshiram’s inclusion on this card enhances the cool factor even more, which Charizard usually handles on its own. Two powerful Fire-type Pokemon, like Reshiram and Charizard, represent their type well with this excellent artwork to kick things off.

11

Pokegear 3.0 (Secret) – $43.18

Don’t Sleep On Item Cards

The Unbroken Bonds Pokegear 3.0 from the Pokemon TCG.

Most Trainer item cards often fall off from the most expensive cards in their respective set, but certain iconic or noteworthy items buck the trend, securing solid prices through high demand. However, the Gold Secret Rare versions of items have collectible value.

Whether you want to add some bling to your competitive deck or enjoy the art of the Pokegear, this card’s price tag exceeds the most expensive cards in Celebrations, hammering home just how impressive the Pokegear’s price is despite falling from over $60.

10

Muk & Alolan Muk GX (Full Art) – $45.06

Done Dirty No More

The Unbroken Bonds Muk And Alolan Muk GX Full Art from the Pokemon TCG.

While Muk and Alolan Muk get a bad reputation for being literal toxic waste, their rainbow of colors, however sludgy, is perfect for card art like this. This thematically brilliant scene of two sludge piles popping out of the sewer is exactly the type of thing you’d expect from them.

While opinions on Muk range across the spectrum, this card’s upward trend began in the mid-30s, as it continued to the current market price, setting an impressive high.

9

Greninja & Zoroark GX (Secret Rare) – $49.70

The Debut Of The Ninja Duo

The Unbroken Bonds Greninja & Zoroark Secret Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

On the other end of the design spectrum, Zoroark and Greninja are two of the most beloved Pokemon due to their incredibly clean designs. These ninja-like Pokemon perfectly embody the Dark typing, though Greninja’s primary typing is Water.

However, one thing they share in common with Muk and Alolan Muk is this card’s price trajectory is similarly impressive, roughly doubling from a $25 price point in 2024. Greninja and Zoroark are important inclusions in Unbroken Bonds, with more gorgeous art to deliver.

8

Gardevoir & Sylveon GX (Secret Rare) – $63.95

A Colorblast For Fairy Friends

The Unbroken Bonds Gardevoir&Sylveon Secret Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Charizard & Reshiram should be followed by Gardevoir & Sylveon, as these two dynamic duos account for four of the top ten most valuable cards in Unbroken Bonds. While each duo’s more expensive versions are flipped, it’s no surprise to see these four Pokemon commanding high values.

Much like Charizard, Sylveon’s status as an Eeveelution makes any card it appears on more valuable than it would’ve been. Gardevoir’s presence is similar, as these two Pokemon are among the most popular Fairty types in the TCG.

7

Marshadow & Machamp GX (Full Art) – $86.60

Two Fighters Taking A Break

The Unbroken Bonds Marshadow&Machamp GX from the Pokemon TCG.

Marshadow and Machamp don’t exactly ooze peaceful energy, but that’s exactly what you get from them in this unexpected Full Art scene. Marshadow sits atop Machamp as the pair gazes out into the sunset, painting an unusually calm picture.

While this card tumbled from about $95 to $65, it’s beginning to show signs of demand at its new price point. Whether you’re a fan of the Pokemon or not, this art is striking and is one of those cards worth adding to your collection.

6

Blastoise GX (Secret) – $95.48

A Rare Solo Pokemon Appearance

The Unbroken Bonds Blastoise GX from the Pokemon TCG.

Blastoise is one of the most popular TCG Pokemon ever and would likely command even higher value if it wasn’t for the direct competition it faces from its fellow starter, Charizard. Despite the stiff competition among Kantonian starters, Blastoise can boast that it’s the only solo Pokemon to appear.

While the most valuable Unbroken Bonds cards typically feature two subjects, Blastoise breaks the streak with its colorful Rainbow Secret Rare. It’s one of the best Pokemon in Sun & Moon’s sets, with several appearances in the Alolan–themed cards.

5

Red’s Challenge (Full Art) – $97.90

The Strongest Rise To The Top

The Unbroken Bonds Red's Challenge from the Pokemon TCG.

Red reigns as arguably the strongest trainer in the entire Pokemon franchise, as this silent character lets his skills in battle do the talking. Red is often portrayed in tense battle poses and this art continues to give us more of what we expect from our favorite silent protagonist.

Red has seen a jump in price since crossing the $90 mark, and his recognizability should continue to support his price in the future. However, the Pokemon market is unpredictable, so there’s no guarantee Red’s reign will continue.

4

Green’s Exploration (Full Art) – $105.50

Adventuring Across Alola

The Unbroken Bonds Green's Exploration from the Pokemon TCG.

Green is the oft-forgotten third member of the original trainer trio: Red, Green, and Blue. While Green’s character became Leaf when Pokemon came to the West, Green was the protagonist of the original Pokemon game in Japan of the same name.

While her character doesn’t get the same amount of attention as some of the most valuable full-art trainer cards, Green’s appearance here is an appreciated nod to her impact on Pokemon history and a testament to her popularity among the most dedicated TCG collectors.

3

Reshiram & Charizard GX (Secret) – $141.20

The Rainbow Return Of Roaring Dragons

The Unbroken Bonds Reshiram&Charizard Secret from the Pokemon TCG.

Their long-awaited return is finally here, with these fellow Fire-types getting the Rainbow Secret Rare treatment, trading their monochromatic background for a polychromatic palette. The shimmering colors give these two Pokemon a brilliant re-color, as their simple primary palettes are perfect canvases for the rainbow.

Charizard will find itself among the most valuable cards from Team Rocket to Champion’s Path, so it’s never a surprise to see Charizard near the top of any list. While this card crosses triple digits, there’s one card that soars even higher.

2

Greninja & Zoroark GX (Alternate Full Art) – $152.16

A Sleepy Forest Scene

The Unbroken Bonds Greninja&Zoroark Alt Art from the Pokemon TCG.

Greninja’s popularity alone is enough to carry this card, but Zoroark is a fantastic pairing, as these two Pokemon flourish in shadow, as portrayed by the art. The subtle use of shadow to convey Zoroark and Greninja’s penchant for dishing out Dark-type attacks is a great touch.

This card has bounced up and down from the low to high 90s, but it holds fairly steady at that range. If you’re looking for a card that you can enjoy without worrying about its value decreasing, this Greninja & Zoroark is one of the best Unbroken Bonds cards to collect.

1

Gardevoir & Sylveon GX (Alternate Full Art) – $306.77

A Sweet Moment Of Serenity

The Unbroken Bonds Gardevoir&Sylveon GX Alt Art from the Pokemon TCG.

These two sweet Fairy-type Pokemon prevail over the Dragon duo – Reshiram & Charizard, boasting easily the most adorable artwork in Unbroken Bonds. Gardevoir & Sylveon already boast a beautiful Rainbow Secret Rare, worthy of being called one of the best Sylveon cards ever.

However, it’s been a tumultuous road at the top of the most valuable cards in Unbroken Bonds, as this card dipped from $230 to just north of $170 before soaring up toward the $300 mark. Whatever the future holds, it’s unlikely that Gardevoir & Sylveon will fall from their perch anytime soon.
