Where can you find Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds? These valuable aquatic creatures have a couple of different uses. But if you’re not well-versed in the Monster Hunter gameplay loop, tracking them down might be a troublesome trip.
Once you complete your mission to reel in a valuable feast, check out the best Monster Hunter Wilds weapons and Monster Hunter Wilds armor to ensure no monster is lasting longer than it should in a fight. Our Monster Hunter Wilds quest list can keep you from running off the track, too.
Where are the Goldenfish locations in Monster Hunter Wilds?
You can find Goldenfish in subterranean locations like Area 8 of the Scarlet Forest or Area 13 of the Windward Plains.
The latter location, which you’ll find behind a waterfall, is the more bountiful Goldenfish spot of the two. The two-tier cave system has two individual fishing spots with numerous Goldenfish ripe for the taking. It’s also far easier to navigate than the one in the Windward Plains.
If you’ve exhausted the best Monster Hunter Wilds Goldenfish location in the Scarlet Forest, the cave northeast of the Oasis area of the Windward Plains is worth visiting while you wait for the stock to replenish. Just find the diving area inside to emerge by a pool with a couple more ready to snag.
To catch Goldenfish, you can use the Fishing Rod to reel in individual fish, or you can equip and shoot the net to grab a bunch in one go. When fishing, the Golden Bughead bait will speed things up.
What are Goldenfish for in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Finding Goldenfish is the objective of an early quest from Kanya. You’ll find her fishing up a storm at the back of the Scarlet Forest base camp. Once you’ve cleared her first quest by catching a fish in the nearby pool, you can go back to her to start the Goldenfish quest after progressing through the main story.
On top of that, Goldenfish are also a decent source of income early in the game. If you’re out gathering other materials, hooking (or netting) some Goldenfish as you go can top up your coffers, making it easier to experiment with new armor, weapons, and item builds.
