If you’re keen to get your hands on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 or RTX 5080, there’s now a new, official route for you to try. Nvidia is sending out invitations via its new Verified Priority Access program, giving account holders the chance to secure one of these top-tier Founders Edition gaming GPUs at their MSRP price, directly from the GPU maker itself.

This isn’t the first time Nvidia has taken on the scalpers, using a similar program to help gamers purchase RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 graphics cards when those launches were also affected by stock availability problems. While the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are now among the best graphics cards you can buy, demand for both cards has been exceptionally high, making it almost impossible for gamers to buy one since their launch last month.

Nvidia’s program hopes to solve that problem, however, at least for some gamers. After announcing the Nvidia Verified Priority Access program a week ago, it looks like the first invites are on their way. One lucky Redditor posted proof of their invite to buy an RTX 5090 FE (Founders Edition) on Reddit in r/nvidia, with multiple comments confirming invites to purchase both cards were now being sent out.

Eligibility is currently restricted to U.S. residents who had an Nvidia account on, or before, January 30, 2025 at 6AM PST, the official launch date and time for both the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. If you fit this criteria, you can still register your interest using this sign up form here. If you’re invited, you’ll be able to buy an RTX 5090 FE for $1,999, or the RTX 5080 FE for $999, from Nvidia directly.

The GPU maker hasn’t set a time limit on how long it intends to operate the program, and it hasn’t provided any information on whether it intends to expand the scope to cover other countries at a later date, either. If you’re eligible, we’d certainly recommend signing up via the form, as the chance to secure an RTX 5090 FE or RTX 5080 FE at the MSRP isn’t an opportunity to be missed.

If you’re not eligible for the program, haven’t received an invite just yet, or don’t live in the United States, there are other options.
