Pokemon TCG Pocket March Premium Pass Card Is Darkrai ex

As it stands, DeNA isn’t very good at keeping its Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket secrets under wraps, especially not its monthly Premium Pass promos. In November, December’s Mewtwo card leaked, and December also saw January’s Moltres ex Leak.

Given that we’re just a couple of days away from March, the TCG Pocket team came close to keeping next month’s promo under wraps, only for it to leak at the final hurdle.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Premium Pass Subscribers Will Get A Free Darkrai ex

Much like some of the other previous Premium Pass promos, players who subscribe in March will get an alternate version of one of the game’s most meta-relevant cards—Darkrai ex.

While this method doesn’t always go down particularly well, especially for those who don’t battle, a free version of Darkrai ex might be just the tonic for those who are looking to build a competitive deck.

Darkrai ex has consistently been one of the most successful deck archetypes since the launch of Space-Time Smackdown last month, taking seven of the top eight spots at one of the expansion’s early events,

But, while Darkrai ex IS the current meta, things look like they’re about to drastically change with the imminent release of the A2a expansion, which is rumored to be called Triumphant Light. The set will seemingly be focused around the God Pokemon, Arceus.

The Pokemon features as the expansion’s pack art and is also getting at least one card, an Arceus ex, within the set. It’s this card that is likely to wreak havoc against Darkrai ex.

A basic Pokemon, Arceus ex can’t be affected by any Special Condition thanks to its Fabled Luster Ability. Its Ultimate Force attack is also beastly, dealing a potential 160 damage from just three colorless energy.

This alone makes the inclusion of Darkrai ex as March’s Premium Pass promo a bit of an odd choice, but a free card is a free card.
