Avowed: That Which Remains Quest Guide (Well Key Location)

Players will have to search for two keys in order to complete That Which Remains quest in Avowed.

Side With Lodwyn And The Steel Garrote In Avowed

Choosing to side with Lodwyn and the Steel Garrote will result in all of your companions leaving you to fight all the upcoming battles alone. Additionally, all the leaders will become upset and refuse to speak with you.

As players proceed further, they have to fight many hordes of soldiers, and it will be quite difficult doing the battles alone. Eventually, when you reach Inquisitor Lodwyn, you can tell her that you are now standing with the Steel Garrote. To test your locality, she requires a sacrifice. Players must renounce Sapadal and kneel before her.

Renounce Sapadal

  • Lodwyn will ask you to do it multiple times.
  • She will cut off your head the moment you kneel to make an example out of you.
  • You will get a bad ending.

Don’t Renounce Sapadal

  • Refusing to renounce or kneel will lead to a fight.
  • As your companions have abandoned you, players have to fight all three phases alone.
  • You will get a bad ending.

Fight Lodwyn And Choose A Fate For The Living Lands In Avowed

During the conversation with the leaders and the ambassador, if players choose any option beside the Lodwyn, then it means they have decided to stand against the Inquisitor and the Steel Garrote. There are different options concerning the fate of the Living Lands and each will lead to a different ending in addition to other choices players have made in the past.

Your companions will not leave you and stand with you through every battle. As for the leaders, some will be happy with certain decisions, while some will just accept the sacrifices made. All three options will lead to fighting Inquisitor Lodwyn as the final boss:

Become a Colony of Aedyr

  • The Living Lands is colonized by the Aedyran Empire.
  • There will be Aedyran Soldiers in every region, enforcing the laws and customs of Aedyr.
  • Not the best ending.

Attempt a Grefram

  • Every region will be given freedom to a certain extent.
  • A capable person chosen by the Emperor, most likely the Envoy, will be sent to the Living Lands to become their ruler.
  • The regions are protected and safe but must pay taxes and live under the rules of Aedyr.
  • An acceptable ending.

United Living Lands

  • All the regions are free and are not forced to follow any rules except their own.
  • The best ending.
