While the status of future DLC for 2023s Mortal Kombat 1 continues to be up in the air, the game still has commitments to its Khaos Reigns expansion and Kombat Pack 2 fighters.
Originally unveiled in July, Mortal Kombat 1‘s second Kombat Pack introduced more guest fighters, including Ghostface and Conan the Barbarian, as well as fan favorite Noob Saibot. And, over the course of the past few months, those fighters have slowly trickled out, with Terminator 2’s T-1000 being the final roster member left to be released.

Mortal Kombat often celebrates its history with action and horror icons, but gaming is part of that legacy too.
On Sunday, the official Mortal Kombat YouTube account provided a first-look at T-1000, complete with the sweet vocals of Robert Patrick, his original actor. Set for a March 18th release date, the 50-second teaser is chock-full of T2 references, including a trip on the iconic semi-truck.
If Only T-800 Was In The Game
Right off the rip, T-1000 makes use of the iconic finger blade that he used to stab Sarah Connor during the movie’s events.
Of course, he also makes use of the armblades that were a central part of his character during the movie.
And he can also transform into a metal blob just like in the movie, only this time it seems like it’s been used as a means to close the gap between combos and not sneak into hospitals.
Perhaps the best part of it all is that his fatality is centered around the movie’s iconic chase sequence, complete with a semi-truck and machine gun. It actually combines two elements from the movie, the first being the chase sequence at the LA River, including the destroying of the windshield.
Then, it takes cues from the second chase sequence, where the T-800 pulls out a machine gun and absolutely unloads on the T-1000.
The end result is a fatality that should have any Terminator fan giddy. Unfortunately, T-800 is not in the game since he was DLC for MK11. That said, Conan the Barbarian is, which means there could be room for some crossover dialogue. Either way, it looks like NetherRealm hit it out of the park with this DLC.
