  • Golden Light is a Prop Hunt roguelike horror game with procedurally-generated levels and very positive reviews.
  • Point-and-click adventure game Stellar Mess is also free on Steam until February 27.

For a limited time, Steam users can add the horror FPS Golden Light to their digital libraries completely free of charge. Steam users have already been treated to a free game for February 2025, with the previous free game actually still available for users to snag right now.

Point-and-click adventure game Stellar Mess is free on Steam until February 27. A sci-fi point-and-click adventure game with a UI that looks like it was pulled straight out of the classics, Stellar Mess has been positively-received by fans. A follow-up is set to release at some point in the near future, which is likely why the decision was made to give the original game away for free. By letting Steam users play Stellar Mess for free, it grows the pool of potential players who might play the sequel.

Steam Giving Away Free Game With ‘Very Positive’ Reviews for February 2025

PC gamers on Steam have a limited time to claim a game with ‘very positive’ reviews absolutely free of charge.

Stellar Mess isn’t the only free Steam game. From now until February 24 at 12:00pm CST, Steam users have the chance to grab Golden Light for free as well. A first-person survival horror game, Golden Light is described as a “Prop Hunt roguelike.” Players explore the Meat Zone, where they are attacked by bizarre creatures and “props.” The game features procedurally-generated levels and has earned “Very Positive” reviews from Steam users in both the Recent and All categories. With over 2,500 reviews counted so far, it’s clear that horror fans should be sure to claim Golden Light for free on Steam while the offer is still available.

Golden Light is Free on Steam

Stellar Mess and Golden Light are currently free on Steam at the time of this writing, but they aren’t the only free games PC gamers can get right now. Those willing to venture to the Epic Games Store have the chance to get another two freebies. From now until February 27, Epic Games Store users can claim Garden Story and World War Z: Aftermath for free. Then, on February 27, Garden Story and World War Z will be cycled out of availability and replaced by Mages of Mystralia, which will be free until March 6 before being replaced by whatever the next EGS free game is.

As long as one is willing to utilize multiple storefronts, PC gamers can build up quite a collection of free games rather easily. GOG also gives away free games on occasion, so PC gamers should check Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG on a regular basis to get as many free games as possible.
