Arcane Star Admits They Didn’t Think The Series Would End After Season 2

One of the Arcane stars admitted they were not expecting the hit animated TV series to end after two seasons because they weren’t informed about it.

Gkids acquired the global (except China) videogram and digital transactional rights for Arcane Season 2. Following the acquisition, the Oscar-winning animation producer and distributor is expected to release an array of products in 2025, just like those they released for Arcane Season 1 in 2024. “The Gkids team is absolutely thrilled to continue its partnership with Riot and Fortiche,” said Gkids Director of Home Entertainment Alison Kozberg, Deadline reported. “From the beginning, we developed our season one 4KUHD and Blu-ray editions with an eye towards eventually celebrating the whole story of Jinx, Vi, Piltover and Zaun. We couldn’t be more excited to create something really special for the arc’s momentous conclusion.”

Among the anticipated products is a 4K version of the series. In 2024, Gkids released an exclusive 4K UHD Steelbook edition of Arcane: League of Legends featuring a Jinx-themed outer design, a Vi-themed Steelbook edition of Arcane: League of Legends across three Blu-ray discs, a Standard Blu-ray and a 4K UHD Collector’s Set of Arcane: League of Legends Season One, which “serves as the definitive showcase for the award-winning series.” The Collector’s Edition includes all nine episodes of Arcane Season 1 in 4K UHD and Blu-ray Formats, over three hours of bonus features and more. Specific product details and release dates will be announced on their website.

Gkids’ physical release of Arcane Season 1 has been met with significant enthusiasm from fans, even those who have already streamed the show on Netflix. Owning a physical copy has several advantages over streaming because it gives one permanent access to their favorite content without relying on its continual availability on the streaming platform. Streaming giants like Netflix, Disney Plus, and Max delete some shows on their platforms for several reasons, including cost-cutting, expiring licensing agreements, mergers and rebranding, rights and legal issues, and content optimizations. A physical copy guarantees that one will always have access to their favorite show. Additionally, it offers enhanced quality since the physical copy provides superior audio and visual quality.

Also, Special Editions like the Collector’s Set come with exclusive bonus materials and packaging, making them valuable to fans and collectors. For instance, Gkids’ Collector’s Set Edition for Arcane Season 1 also includes original artwork, exclusive “Hexcore” oversized metal d20, 7 “Hex Crystal” liquid core resin dice, a velvet dice pouch, six art cards featuring Powder’s drawings, double-sided progress day poster with original Jinx graffiti and a fabric version of Caitlyn’s Piltover map. Arcane fans should wait for more updates about the upcoming Gkids products for Season 2.

Arcane streams on Netflix.
