Cinnamoroll is an adorable pup that you can find wandering the islands in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Here, you can learn how to befriend him.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at where you can find all of the six mini games in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Overall, the games are fairly simple to get the hang of, but we’ll also go over how you can successfully complete each one.

How To Play Mini Games

A player grabbing a game ticket in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

In order to play mini games, you’ll need to use one Game Ticket. This is the pass into a mini game, but thankfully, they aren’t too hard to get a hold of. Each day, three Game Tickets will appear in the Seaside Resort plaza. This is where you begin each day, so you don’t have to travel too far.

You can also get Game Tickets from Weekly quests and special events that are happening. For example, here at TheGamer, the Luck and Lanterns Celebration is occurring, with Game Tickets as a possible daily reward.

Once you unlock the Gamer ability for Badtz-maru (at friendship level nine), you’ll be able to get one free mini game attempt each day. For this to be active, you’ll need to have Badtz-maru as your companion.

Bogging For Apples

  • Location: Spooky Swamp (just south of the Fwishing Well near an entrance to the hedge maze)

The first mini game we have is Bogging For Apples. This mini game is similar to the challenge courses; you’ll be chasing down white apples that are spread throughout the maze. In total, there are 25 apples, and you’ll have 60 seconds to grab them all.

The premise is simple, but since it’s set in a maze, it’s easy to get turned about. Overall, to get all 25 apples, it’s essential to have some sort of speed boost. With the Speed Walker ability (from Pochacco), you can walk faster.

If you have Pompompurin’s Pudding Pants ability, you’ll be able to jump over the edges, which is great if you want to avoid backtracking. Lastly, consider using the Speedy Walking Potion, which can be made after you unlock potion-making with Kuromi. This potion doesn’t work if you have Pochacco’s Speed Walker ability, but it combines well with Pudding Pants.

Seapony Racing

  • Location: Rainbow Reef (to the right of the Recycling Plant, which is also directly to the right of the Cozy Islands Mailbox)

Ever dream of become a seapony racer? While this isn’t quite the same, you’ll be able to bet on seaponies and potentially win big. After forking over a Game Ticket, you’ll be asked to pick a seapony that you want to support.

The race itself is completely random; there is no way to ensure that your pony does well. As such, there is no way to guarantee first place. Overall, this really isn’t a mini game in the typical sense, but there are still some nice possible rewards.

We played this ten times in a row and only got first place on the final attempt. If you aim for first place and plan on collecting all the furniture pieces, expect to spend a lot of tickets.

Gem Match

  • Location: Gemstone Mountain (the building with the gold roof, north of the Gemstone Town mailbox)

Gem Match is an untimed matching game that tasks you with interacting with gem nodes in order to reveal their color. One Game Ticket gives you two turns, with each turn consisting of activating two gem nodes. If you manage to get a match within these two tries, you’ll get a free turn. This means that if you continuously get matches, you can keep going with the same Game Ticket.

If you fail at getting a match after the first two sets of guesses, your attempt will be over. Thankfully, you can just pay another Game Ticket to pick up the game where you left off. The ‘board’ will still have the same colors, so it’s important to remember the revealed gems each turn.

The best piece of advice we can give is to simply remember what you activate. Sometimes, luck isn’t on your side at the start of the game, but as you reveal more gems, remember the colors. If you reveal a matching color, you can return and reactivate the past one.

Rockadoodler Roundup

  • Location: Gemstone Mountain (north of the Gemstone Corral mailbox)

To compete in this mini game, you’ll first need to complete the quest called Rockadoodler Roundup, which is given by Pekkle after reaching friendship level eight with him.

This game is exactly what it sounds like; use your net to round up some Rockadoodlers. A Game Ticket will give you 60 seconds to catch all 15 found in the area. While this may sound simple, it can be tricky at times. Rockadoodlers act like normal critters; they can be scared off and chased around.

If you go out of bounds during this mini game, the game will end and your Game Ticket will be returned to you. If you manage to catch at least one before going out of bounds, you’ll just get three eggs.

Unlike the last two mini games we mentioned, companions can really help here. Similar to Bogging For Apples, Pochacco’s Speed Walker ability is great. You can also opt for Keroppi’s Critter Friend ability, which makes the Rockadoodlers get startled less. This lets you just walk up to them and swing your net.

We suggest combining the Critter Friend ability with a Speedy Walking Potion in order to have the best chance of rounding up all 15.

Red Hot Rampage

  • Location: Mount Hothead (north of Pizza Oven in an indoor area)

Red Hot Rampage takes place in an underground, platformer-like area where you will need to navigate through ledges and staircases in order to gather 14 Magma Blooms in 180 seconds. This game is difficult, to say the least. Getting all 14 Magma Blooms can be incredibly hard if you don’t have any companion by your side.

In terms of companions to have, we suggest Pompompurin (jump higher with Pudding Pants), Pochacco (walk faster with Speed Walker), or Kuromi (boost balloon height with Super Balloon).

You can also use a Thermal Potion, which boosts balloon flying height. This is essential, as many of the Magma Blooms are quite tricky to jump to. The Hello Kitty Island Adventure Discord community has come through though, providing a map on Reddit highlighting the best path through the mini game.

It’s important to keep in mind that this mini game is hard no matter what. Chances are, you’ll need to run through it dozens of times in order to get all the rewards.

Crane Craze

  • Location: Merry Meadows (just north of the Merry Meadows Temple mailbox)

Last but not least, we have Crane Craze. This mini game is located in the Merry Meadows, which needs to be unlocked first. You’ll also need to complete the quest called Petal Puzzle, given by Wish Me Mell, which gives you access to the Temple.

The game itself is an oversized crane game, where you will use a big crane hand to grab boxes that float around on lilypads. Before playing, you can choose between either Easy or Hard mode, with each difficulty having different prizes.

When the game starts, the lilypads will be moving around; you’ll use the large buttons to position the crane hand. When lined up in a manner that you like, you’ll then need to step on the giant purple button to drop the crane hand down.

Consider lining up your crane hand in a cardinal direction, such as all the way towards the waterfall. This may help you time the crane hand with the crates. We also suggest targeting a box from the start of the game. This will help you focus on learning one pattern, rather than the pattern of every crate that is floating around.

If you successfully grab a crate, you’ll then be able to open it with the pickaxe. Grabbing a crate can be difficult, especially since the lilypads are constantly in motion. It’s a good idea to get a sense of the timing in order to plan your future crane hand drops.

Rather than dropping the crane right as a box passes underneath, try to anticipate it and lower the crane in advance. When the crane is fully lowered, it should line up with the crate. With Wish Me Mell’s level 13 ability (Precision Play), the crates will be slowed by 25 percent in Hard mode. This ability is essential if you want to grab crates.

The rewards for Crane Craze work a bit differently than other mini games. When you fail to catch a crate, you’ll get three Pollen Puffs, but all other reward crates are marked with the item it contains. Not all crates appear at the same time, but the crates that do spawn will always hold what is displayed.
