Summary
- Jujutsu Kaisen remains top selling, with almost 1 million copies sold in January 2025.
- Dandadan follows closely behind, gaining popularity due to its anime adaptation.
- Sakamoto Days is in 3rd place, with impressive sales despite not reaching Jujutsu Kaisen’s level.
The first month of the new year has proven to be quite good for a lot of manga series. A popular series that just ended keeps making it to the top of the manga sales charts, showing just how massive it was and still is in the manga world. All of this was revealed by Oricon.
Oricon’s Best-Selling Series of January 2025 – Jujutsu Kaisen
Total Number of Sales: 969,151
Unsurprisingly, Jujutsu Kaisen is still on top, despite having already ended last year. The final manga volume was dropped around Christmas of 2024, and since then, the sales have been incredible, which is a testament to how popular of a series this was.
The total sales are 969,151 copies, which is very impressive, and it probably won’t stop anytime soon, especially as a movie and a new anime season will be coming out, which will only renew its popularity.
The Second Best Selling Series – Dandadan
Total Number of Sales: 838,678
Dandadan has gained a lot of popularity thanks to its incredible anime adaptation, and is actually not that far behind Jujutsu Kaisen, having 838,678 copies sold.
The series will continue with good sales, especially as the second part of the first season drops and gets back to its peak popularity.
The Third Best Selling Series – Sakamoto Days
Total Number of Sales: 438,163
Sakamoto Days has its first season airing right now. Even before that, Sakamoto Days was quite a popular manga. With all that though, sales are not comparable to Jujutsu Kaisen or Dandadan, being at 438,163 copies, which is still an impressive number, nevertheless.
The Rest of the Top 10
Blue Lock, My Hero Academia, The Apothecary Diaries, Among Others
Blue Lock is the 4th best-selling series this January, and is actually not far behind Sakamoto Days.
The 5th best-selling series is Toilet Bound Hanako Kun, with Blue Box, Medalist, and The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime following as 6th, 7th, and 8th best-selling manga respectively.
My Hero Academia is 9th which is a lot lower than Jujutsu Kaisen, despite them both ending around the same time.
And lastly, on the 10th place is The Apothecary Diaries. A lot of other popular series didn’t make it into the top 10, but instead landed in the top 20, like Solo Leveling or Oshi No Ko.
