Combat is a major part of the gameplay loop of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and a lot of what Henry will be doing during his adventures in Trosky and Kuttenberg involves fighting enemies using all manner of medieval weaponry.
But, while dueling with an enemy in an honorable one-on-one is well within his capabilities, the situation becomes a lot more dire when he is forced to fight against a group of enemies aiming for his head in a wild melee. Fortunately, there are ways for players to handle the pressure. Here are some key tips to keep in mind when fighting multiple enemies in KCD 2.

This romance guide for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will explain how romance works, and provide tips for Henry’s love pursuits.
Use Mutt
A 1v5 is More Difficult Than a 2v5
The hardest thing when fighting a group of enemies in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is fending off multiple attacks from all sides. If you’re caught in a bad position, Henry’s loyal companion, Mutt, can be the difference maker between victory and defeat. He can consistently distract enemies, forcing them to pay attention to him instead of Henry, which can take most of the pressure off quite effectively.
Max Out FOV
Widen The Field Of View To Gauge The State of the Fight
In the Game Settings, players will find an option to increase their field of vision from a measly 90 all the way to 110. One of the biggest problems when fighting multiple enemies in KCD 2 is that it’s very easy for them to surround you from all sides. This is a terrible position to be in, and you will only know if you’re in this position if you can actually see these enemies move on the battlefield. A bigger FOV gives you more information, which is crucial for figuring out the optimal positioning in any situation.
Pay Attention To Positioning
Try To Keep All Enemies in Vision
Enemies in KCD 2 move relatively slowly. They will not rush you en masse and will instead walk slowly and carefully toward Henry during a fight. When facing multiple enemies, you can take advantage of this by constantly moving backward while trying to keep all attackers within your vision. Positioning is key in these fights and you can only avoid taking damage if the enemies you are facing are unable to surround you. Henry can only block and parry in one direction.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Where to Store Items
Being overencumbered in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be a hassle. For those looking prevent this from happening, here’s where they can store items.
Pick Off Weaker Targets First
Armorless, Shieldless Enemies Should Be The First Casualties Of Battle
It’s much, much easier to kill off a bandit wearing rags than a knight wearing a full set of steel plate armor while hiding behind a tower shield, but both of them can be equally dangerous to Henry if left alone. Knowing which enemies can go down in a couple of swings and which ones will force Henry into a slugfest is incredibly important to control the flow of battle. This doesn’t mean that you should run towards the first unarmored foe you see, but that you should dodge and parry attacks while slowly moving Henry in a position where he can target the weaker NPC without taking a hit from the others in the fight.
Use Master Strikes
Take Down Enemies in a Single Swing
A key piece of the puzzle when fighting multiple enemies is the ability to consistently perform Master Strikes when the situation allows for it. These are typically unblockable attacks, meaning you can get an easy direct hit on an enemy. Taking advantage of Master Strikes allows you to avoid getting locked into the parry, attack, parry, attack rhythm of battle that can allow other enemies to swarm you.
Use Terrain to Your Advantage
Narrow Passages Are Henry’s Friends
A great way to avoid getting swarmed and turn a 1v10 fight into ten 1v1 fights is to use elements of the environment to force enemies to come at Henry one by one. NPCs in KCD 2 cannot phase through each other, which means that if you are standing at the top of a narrow staircase and there are five enemies coming after you, they can only attack Henry one at a time. You can also use things like large tree trunks, castle walls, and even other NPCs as shields from Archers aiming at you from afar.
Eliminate Enemies From Range
Use Archery To Whittle Down The Opposition
If you’re the one ambushing a large party of bandits, for example, your first action should always be to whip out your bow or crossbow and take down as many of these enemies from a distance as possible. It’s an easy way to pick off one or two targets before the actual fight starts.
