The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone Double XP event has been extended to account for downtime caused by the PlayStation Network outage. The outage prevented Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from participating in the Double XP event for nearly 24 hours.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 began on Tuesday, January 28, and the season’s first Double XP event began the following week on Thursday, February 6. Double XP events happen regularly each year in the latest Call of Duty games, allowing players to gain much more XP and Weapon XP than usual. This same bonus applies to GobbleGum acquisition rate in the Black Ops 6 Zombies mode, so Zombies fans don’t miss out on gains as well. However, the PlayStation Network outage on February 7 ruined plans for many Call of Duty fans, as they were unable to login and play online for nearly 24 hours. Many players were disappointed about missing an entire day of the Double XP event, and the Call of Duty developers at Treyarch addressed the community before the event was supposed to end on Monday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

In yet another emphatic move, Call of Duty imposes a ridiculously long ban on a player for a certain rule violation, leaving fans of the game amazed.
Treyarch’s official Twitter account confirmed the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Double XP event has been extended by 48 hours, giving players much more time to spend grinding for XP. The event is now planned to end on February 12 at 10:00 a.m. PT, and the same bonuses to XP, Weapon XP, and GobbleGum acquisition rates will apply. It’s worth noting that other events, including Call of Duty’s ongoing The Terminator event, did not receive extensions.

Many gamers are excited that the Double XP event was extended, especially players who are attempting to reach higher Prestige ranks. Others still aren’t happy with the developers due to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone’s ongoing hacking and cheating issues, however. A notable portion of the community believes that hackers and cheaters are driving players away from the latest Call of Duty entries.
Nonetheless, the Double XP event should be a great opportunity for players to quickly level up and improve their weapons before heading into Call of Duty’s Ranked Play mode. Since the Terminator event is still ongoing, those who haven’t obtained enough skulls for their next reward may do so while reaping the benefits of additional XP and GobbleGum in multiplayer and Zombies.
