Olympic Sports On The Streets
Crash ‘n’ the Boys: Street Challenge
Part of the Kunio Kun series of games, Crash ‘n’ the Boys: Street Challenge mixes the sporting aspect of Super Dodge Ball with the unbridled violence of River City Ransom. The story involves a snooty rich kid wanting to exact revenge on some of his classmates who defeated him in sports at school, which he does by organizing street sports with very relaxed rules.
The five teams in the game each have five members with their own strengths and weaknesses, and there are five sports in total, competed in this order:
- 400m Hurdles – a simple footrace, but opponents can be kicked, or hurdles can be thrown at them.
- Swimming – a simple swimming race, but opponents can be punched and dragged underwater.
- Fighting Scene – an all-out street brawl with the loser being the combatant whose stamina is drained.
- Hammer Throw – more like golf, featuring sand traps and water hazards as players keep throwing until they reach the goal.
- Roof Top Jump – jumping across rooftops with a pole vault. Competitors are penalized if they fall through the gap.
