Summary

  • Square Enix has expanded its polygon soft vinyl figures range from one to three.
  • Sephiroth and Zack figures are now available for pre-order alongside the previously revealed Cloud.
  • Cloud’s figure will ship in June 2025 with Zack and Sephiroth following in August.

Final Fantasy 7 doesn’t need a recent or imminent release to remain popular and even now, almost a year on from Rebirth, there’s as much hype around the series as there has ever been. That’s why Square Enix has chosen now to make some new additions to its polygon soft vinyl figure line, increasing the number of characters available from one to three in one fell swoop.

Until now, Cloud has been the only character to have had a figure created to mimic how he looks in the original PS1 version of Final Fantasy 7. Now he is joined by Sephiroth and Zack Fair, both of whom now have polygon soft vinyl figures available for pre-order at the Square Enix Store. Best of all, unlike some other Square merch, these figures are not Japanese exclusives.

Even though Cloud’s figure was previously revealed, it’s still in its pre-order period and will ship this June.

They’re also not nearly as expensive as some of the other action figures and statue lines Final Fantasy 7 characters have been a part of. Zack and Sephiroth’s new figures, and Cloud’s for that matter, are $29.99 each. Naturally, the lack of detail has a lot to do with that since the figures are based on less detailed versions of the characters, but they’ve still been made to look just like they do in the games from which they’ve been pulled.

Welcome Sephiroth And Zack To Final Fantasy 7’s Soft Vinyl Range

In All Their Original Polygonal Glory

With posable arms, ankles, and waists that allow you to swivel the figures’ upper bodies, these really are more action figures that have been designed to be played with as opposed to collectibles that are for display only. That doesn’t mean you can’t put them on a shelf to be looked at only, of course, although I’m not sure Sephiroth, in particular, will be content with sitting on a shelf for the rest of time.

FINAL FANTASY VII Polygon Soft Vinyl Figure

Square Enix’s polygon soft vinyl figures are collectibles modeled after how characters from Final Fantasy 7 looked in the original version of the game on PS1. So far Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth have been turned into polygonal figures.

The only downside to Square expanding its FF7 polygonal figures collection is how long it will be until your actual collections get bigger. Although pre-orders are open now and can be found via the links in the box above, the figures won’t ship until August 2025. On the bright side, we’ll be six months closer to Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 by then.

It’s unlikely we will know exactly when the final part of FF7’s remake trilogy will be here by August, but we do know work on it is well underway. Its story has been finalized since the end of last year and Square has confirmed it will not be a PS6 exclusive. Whether that means it will be here before the PS6 is released or there are plans to launch it on PC, Xbox, and maybe even the Switch 2 at the same time remains unclear.
