Updated on January 29, 2025, by Kyle Chamaillard: There are many excellent Lego games on the Nintendo Switch, so we’ve decided to update this list to include even more essential titles for anyone who prefers a world made of bricks over something more realistic.
10
Lego City Undercover
There’s a reason why Lego City Undercover is often nicknamed “Lego GTA” or “GTA for kids.” It’s an open-world video game with plenty of cool vehicles to drive in a town full of gangs. You play as an undercover cop Chase McCain who gets to discover many secrets; but, unlike in the Grand Theft Auto series, the rate of violence is almost non-existent.
The game is packed with parody and satirical moments that make it equally entertaining to both kids and adults. However, what makes it particularly refreshing is that it is the first game in the Lego series with an original story and characters – rather than being based on another comic or movie franchise.
9
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Decades of Marvel lore are turned into plastic bricks and crammed into Lego Marvel Super Heroes video game where you have to stop Doctor Doom and Loki from destroying the world. Luckily, there are numerous heroes from the Marvel Universe you can play as – such as Captain America and the members of the X-Men – each of them with unique abilities.
Plus, the whole action takes place in a Lego version of Manhattan, where you can roam by driving all kinds of vehicles or simply swing through the town like Spider-Man. One way or another, the game is highly entertaining and will probably compel you to complete 100 percent of it.
8
Lego Horizon Adventures
The Horizon series is known for being one of the biggest exclusives in the PlayStation ecosystem, so it was a surprise to many when the Lego version of the first game (Horizon Zero Dawn) arrived on the Nintendo Switch. Lego Horizons Adventures strips away the melodramatic tone and mechanic-heavy gameplay for something more lighthearted and easier for younger players to enjoy.
Lego Horizon Adventures does a good job of adapting the heavy themes from the original game into something more palatable, but it sacrifices many elements that made the original game so special to achieve this goal. The gameplay is fun, but it doesn’t feel nearly as satisfying as other Lego games. It’s a blast for younger kids, but you should maybe wait for Lego Last of Us or Lego Helldivers for something more exciting.
7
Lego Fortnite
If you’ve never heard of Lego Fortnite but have heard of Fortnite itself, you’ll never be able to guess what you’re about to get into. After all, who’d believe that the creators of one of the most famous Battle Royale games have integrated an entirely different sandbox farming simulator game with it, and quite a good one at that?
From the very start, you get left in a giant open world, free to traverse the map and go anywhere. However, the dangers lurking in specific areas will easily defeat your tiny Lego body if you don’t get the necessary upgrades before challenging them.
6
Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2
Another Marvel-inspired Lego game, with one more brick-built villain to defeat. This time it’s Kang the Conqueror, and you get to confront him with a big list of superheroes from the prequel – except for X-Men.
Considering that Kang likes to toy with the space-time continuum, the game conveniently features an impressive new open world known as Chronopolis, consisting of 18 different areas from various MCU periods. So, regardless of age or your knowledge of the series, you can easily pour countless hours into Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 and never get bored by it.
5
Lego DC Super-Villains
Is anyone else bored of predictable superhero tropes? Well, sometimes playing as the infamous baddie can be tons of fun, which is the case with Lego DC Super-Villains. It’s actually the first step of this game – to create your own bad guy from head to toe, even including the color of their powers!
Still, if character customization is not your thing, you can always choose from an impressive collection of goofy DC antiheroes. And don’t worry about the game’s performance while you’re on a journey to become the most powerful supervillain since it runs well on Switch.
4
Lego The Incredibles
Set in an open-world urban environment filled with crime, Lego The Incredibles follows the Parr family of superheroes from Disney-Pixar movie The Incredibles and its sequel. Fighting enemies is a big part of this game, so it comes up with a good deal of playable characters with cool powers including those from other Pixar movies too – namely Woody from Toy Story and Dory from Finding Nemo.
However, despite being the first Lego Pixar crossover title, it doesn’t give much novelty gameplay-wise. Essentially, it’s just a standard family-friendly Lego adventure filled with funny segments and puzzle-solving, but the younger audience and fans of The Incredibles will love it.
3
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
If you’re looking for a Switch game with lots of flashy Jedi action, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a good choice. Its immersive content is based on all three Skywalker Saga trilogies and includes hundreds of playable characters from all across the galaxy.
The campaign brings loads of fun, no matter what side you choose to join. Still, after it’s completed, the game gives even more hours of enjoyable gameplay in an open-world concept of cosmos where you can explore planets in a wide collection of different ships.
2
Lego Jurassic World
In Lego Jurassic World, the fantasy about visiting a theme park full of cloned dinos becomes a reality – constructed in Danish brick form, of course. Based on the well-known Jurassic Park movies, the game recreates some iconic movie scenes with familiar characters such as Dr. Alan Grant. Yet, it does so in a lighthearted way inventing a kid-friendly experience that lacks gore and character deaths.
The gameplay is full of possibilities and allows you to choose between plenty of playable dinosaurs that roam around the open worlds of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna. You even get to create your own prehistoric creatures and learn cool facts about them, too.
1
Lego Builder’s Journey
Unlike the previous games on this list, Lego Builder’s Journey provides a different experience. It’s not one of those thrilling adventures where you play as a Lego version of Luke Skywalker or your dearest Marvel superhero, for example. Instead, you get a heartwarming story of a kid and their father told entirely through the series of Lego building puzzles.
Thanks to its soothing background music and charming visuals, this atmospheric puzzler certainly brings back the joy of creating with your favorite Lego sets. Plus, the gameplay is only a couple of hours long, which makes it ideal for players with limited free time.
