As you do the main story of Wuthering Waves, you get familiar with various limited characters like Changli and Jinhsi. However, Zhezhi was the first limited character released who wasn’t a part of the main story, so the success of her banner heavily depended on her personality and gameplay.

Here’s how to build Zhezhi in Wuthering Waves!

Even after all this, she quickly went up to one of the best characters to have in the game because of her phenomenal kit. Zhezhi can do a lot for your team, but it requires you to use her properly since her abilities can also become a detriment if you don’t.

Wait For Your Forte To Fill Up

When you have Zhezhi on the field and perform basic attacks with her, you’ll see the forte bar at the bottom get filled with cyan color slowly. You can use this forte bar up as soon as it reaches the second break, but it’d give you the most value if you use it once it’s fully completed, which doesn’t take long.

After your forte is completed, you can use three buffed Resonance Skills in a row, with the third one being converted to the Creation’s Zenith skill. This will only happen if you use two Stroke of Genius skills within eight seconds of each other.

Use Zhezhi As A Support

If you’ve gone through Zhezhi’s kit even once, you’ve likely already realized that she can deal quite a lot of damage if used correctly. However, her main source of damage is the coordinated attack performed by her Liberation, which can deal damage even when she’s not on the field since it triggers with any attack.

Apart from this, she also has an Outro Skill that increases the incoming resonator’s Glacio and Resonance Skill DMG, making her a perfect support for Carlotta while also being great with Jinhsi. You’ll get a lot more value from Zhezhi as support than you will if she’s used as the main DPS.

Maximize Your Concerto Gain

It doesn’t take long after taking part in the combat of Wuthering Waves to understand that survivability isn’t your biggest obstacle. Most modes that give you consistent Astrites have a specific time that you have to defeat all enemies in, and it’s nearly impossible to stay within this time if you don’t make your rotations efficient.

As a support character, you’d want to reduce Zhezhi’s time as much as possible. This can be done by first using your basic attacks until your forte is full, then using your skill once, using another basic attack, and then using skill into a basic attack thrice. This will give you nearly enough Concerto to switch off.

If you’re using the Impermanence Heron echo on her, you’d want to use this ability right before switching off so it lasts longer on the next resonator.

Zhezhi Is Futureproof

Jiyan was the first limited character released in Wuthering Waves, and he was the best main DPS during his release. Since then, he’s been powercrept by the likes of Jinhsi, Camellya, and Carlotta. As this is a live-service gacha game, you’ll consistently see some form of power creep making the older DPS characters unusable.

However, the characters that will always stay in the meta, or at least for a very long time, are support characters like Zhezhi. The only point when she can get powercrept is if another character with Glacio DMG and Resonance Skill DMG gets released while also performing coordinated attacks, and the chances of that happening are fairly low.

Use Your Liberation At The End Of Rotation

It’s a good practice to use Zhezhi’s Resonance Liberation at the very end of her turn when you’re about to switch her off, and it’s especially important when using her with Jinhsi. Zhezhi’s Liberation performs coordinated attacks based on how fast the active resonator attacks, and Zhezhi’s own attacks aren’t the fastest.

On the other hand, if you’d use her Liberation’s duration while attacking with Carlotta or Jinhsi, you’d get value a lot faster because of their quick attacks. You’d be able to get all the coordinated attacks either way, but as mentioned before, timing is everything in Wuthering Waves.
