Summary

  • Pokemon has revealed the next addition to its life-size plush collection will be Gardevoir.
  • The Gardevoir plush is five-foot-three-inches tall, the same height as it is in the games.
  • It’s a Japan Pokemon Center exclusive, for now, and will cost $320.

Pokemon has a lot of plush ranges to choose from, but its most impressive, and most expensive, are the Pokemon it has selected to be turned into life-size plushes. Plushes that are either the same size as the Pokemon appear in the games, or have just been made a lot bigger because The Pokemon Company knows fans want that, and it’s already clear they want that for Gardevoir.

Gardevoir will be the next Pokemon to join the life-size plush collection, the first images of the upcoming soft toy shared during the early hours of Friday morning. Pokemon’s life-size plushes are always pictured next to a model for their reveal so potential customers can get an idea of just how big they are. As demonstrated in Gardevoir’s pics, the next life-size Pokemon plush is almost as tall as its female companion.

So big, it’s basically Pokemon furniture.

The life-size Gardevoir plush is five-foot-three. Not only is that exactly how tall Gardevoir is in the games, but it also means the plush will be taller than some of the shorter Pokemon trainers who add it to their plush collection. There are probably going to be a few of you too, both short and tall. As highlighted in the replies to the many posts sharing the good news about Gardevoir’s life-size plush, it’s clear Pokemon knows exactly what it’s doing here.

Form An Orderly Line, I Know You All Want One

While most of us play Pokemon games to catch Pokemon and win badges, there are some of you out there who like Pokemon for other reasons. Certain Pokemon make some of you feel a certain way, and since Gardevoir is bipedal, the same height as a human, and looks a little bit like it’s wearing a dress, there are people out there who are attracted to the Psychic/Fairy-type. Apparently that’s enough for some of you.

Pokemon’s life-size plushes are a lot bigger than any of its other plushes so they tend to cost a lot more. Gardevoir has only been confirmed for release at the Japanese Pokemon Center so far and will cost 49,500 yen ($320). The wait for life-size plushes to eventually be released outside of Japan is hard to predict so no word on when or if Gardevoir will be available in the US. You could get your Gardevoir shipped, but I dread to think how much that will add to its cost. I’m sure that won’t be enough to deter some of you, though.
