The Helion Gate is, essentially, just another one of Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector‘s Space Stations. The Gate has long since been abandoned, of course, so there aren’t any NPCs. So, instead of acquiring materials through traditional commerce, you’ll be scavenging them from ancient wreckage.

This is a relatively small location, but we’ll take you through the ins and outs, as well as guide you through the Shipmind Wreckage contract that you will acquire while scanning the Helion Gate’s records. Play your cards right, and by the time you fly out of this system you’ll have a new crew member.
The Helion Gate
As I already outlined, the Helion gate doesn’t act as a traditional Space Station. If you don’t have any points in Endure, gathering fuel and supplies can be a bit of a chore. Especially since this isn’t a contract, so you aren’t able to utilize your Push Ability to improve your rolls. There are two main areas you will interact with: the Solheim Records, and the Customs Hall. We’ve provided a detailed breakdown of both sections below.
Solheim Records
This is the main objective. Once you have cleared the Idle Minds objective, you’ll run into Juni. She’ll ask to join your crew, and she’ll provide you with the Shipmind Wreck contract.

Customs Hall
Customs Hall is where you’ll acquire any necessary supplies. For every two points of the Within The Gate objective you clear, you’ll unlock another location to scavenge from. Two points will unlock the Derelict Fuel Barge, four points will unlock the Seized Cargo, and six points will make the Gate Structure available. The Derelict Fuel Barge will give you fuel (you probably saw that coming), Seized Cargo gets you supplies, and you can scavenge Raw Scrap and Solheim Data from the Gate Structure.
Navigating Customs Hall is a bit of a nightmare for most classes. You may have to roll with a pretty severe disadvantage, especially if you are an operator.

The Shipmind Wreck Contract
Once you complete the Tracing The Shipmind objective, a Conway done will appear. While inside the Crade of the wreck, you’ll want to be very aware of the Conway alert system as you’ll now be able to alert the drone. Tracking the cables will not set this alert off, but it is also considerably slower.
Once you complete the Extraction Strategy objective, you’ll simply need to disconnect the Port Node and the Starboard Node. You’ll find that Bliss and Juni are the best allies to bring along. Yu-Jin is capable of tracking the cables, but he’s more or less useless after that.
If you don’t bring Juni with you on the Shipmind Wreck contract, you will lose the ability to recruit her.
Once you complete this contract, you’ll simply need to fly back to Flotsam in order to complete the “Diagnose Your Frame” Drive. That will yield two skill points.

What Happens If You Alert The Conway Drone?
If you fail too many rolls while trying to disconnect the Port and Starboard nodes, you’ll get dangerously close to being caught by the Conway Drone. Serafin will then get you to abandon the mission, and you’ll yank the Shipmind without disengaging the protocols.
As far as I can tell, the only real effect this has is that Jean-Mi will mention the state of the Shipmind when they are helping to diagnose you. While it is possible that it affects something else behind the scenes, there doesn’t appear to be a material reward for completing the contract without alerting the drone.
