In Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, your journey will begin in the Hexport Space Station. After wandering around Hexport for a cycle, Serafin, your best buddy, will inform you that you are stuck like chuck unless you can acquire some brand-new feed lines. This objective will be your first Drive (to Escape Hexport) and will be your primary focus during the first part of the game.

However, obtaining those Feed Lines isn’t something that needs to be done one way and one way alone. Citizen Sleeper 2 will provide you with a breadth of options for acquiring the parts you need to escape the Hexport station. We’ll walk you through everything, and help you plot the best path forward.

When you are told you need to acquire the Feed Lines, you’ll need to work your way through Factory Row in pursuit of those Feed Lines. Search the Row or Haul Materials until you complete the trusted supplier requirement. You will now be able talk to Karsten, who’ll tell you that he has exactly the parts you need, you’ll just need to provide him with 400 Cryo. Well, either that or you can scour a derelict Solheim ship and bring him its core.

Pay Karsten The 400 Cryo

This option is the most straightforward but is also the most difficult by far. You can gamble to win 9 Cryo at The Bends, but if you fail you’ll lose Cryo. Doing Data Defusal will earn you 10 cryo for a positive roll and 7 cryo for a neutral roll. The Scrapyard Shift pays 12 for a successful roll, but is a dangerous roll, so it can cause stress. You have 16 days in total, and 6 turns a day. So, the math does work out.

However, things get a little more difficult if you want to complete the Solheim HS22 and Conway Signal Contract, which you’ll need to do in order to recruit Nia and Juni. You will gain money from both missions, but given how many days it’ll take you to complete them, and how much the resources to engage in those missions costs, you won’t make as much as you would staying at the base and performing Data Defusal at the Swift Scrap Solutions.

Unless you are chasing the trophy, it is a terrible idea to pay Karsten. Just pocket that money!

Solheim HS22

When you first arrive at the Solheim, you’ll find that you have two paths forward. You can head straight for the bridge, or you can mess about in the cargo bay. The bridge is the path to completing the quest. However, by working your way through the Cargo Bay, you’ll be able to acquire valuable scrap. Thankfully, this isn’t a zero-sum game. We can start by working our way through the Bridge, and only seriously pursue that scrap once we’ve all but acquired the core. Once you acquire the core, you’ll not be forced to leave the derelict ship, meaning you can pull as much scrap as you want. However, pulling scrap destabilizes the ship, so make sure you have acquired that core before you yank too much.

Juni provides you with two interface dice. Considering how many of the paths are the interface type, this makes her absurdly useful. She’ll also identify the location of the bridge, bypassing the need for you to make a skill check. She’s super useful and will make your life easier.

If you fail a roll, you will likely cause damage to the ship. At certain points, this will cause serious issues with structural stability, which will further cause the ship’s state to degrade every cycle. Try to use high rolls, and avoid being too risky. Leave ones and twos in your pocket unless you are running low on time.

Once you have obtained the core, you will have to decide if you want to allow Juni to extract the data or not, destroying it in the process. If you refuse to allow Juni to take the core, you’ll tell her off and lose the ability to gain her as a crew member. Destroying the core will still allow you to obtain the Feed Lines, as Juni will assist you personally in steeling them. Additionally, if you fail the mission, Juni will still offer to help you (just as if you had allowed her to destroy the core).

Juni will offer to help you even if you left her behind or failed the mission.

Now, you simply need to Hack Security (interface) or Observe Target (engage) in order to achieve the “Karsten Cracked” objective. Once you do, you’ll simply slot in the Katzen Jammer, snag the Feed Lines, and make a run for it.

If you aren’t able to get the feed lines by any of the three methods above, the game will still progress. However, this being the worst option will affect your game negatively down the line. One way in particular is that this will cause you to lose the opportunity to recruit Juni.
