Every Quest Sung Jin-Woo Has Completed In The Anime (So Far) In Solo Leveling

In the world of Solo Leveling, entering a dungeon is different from receiving a quest. For starters, anybody can enter a dungeon, while a quest is a task that is only given to Jinwoo by the System. Furthermore, the main objective of a dungeon is to defeat the boss, but even then, you can always go back and try again later. At least that is the case for normal dungeons.

A quest, on the other hand, has specific rewards and penalties. If Jinwoo completes the quest, he will receive some sort of reward, but if he neglects the quest or fails to finish the quest, there will be penalties to pay. While the story features numerous dungeons, quests are few and far between. So with that in mind, let’s dive into the quests that have appeared in the anime thus far.

Courage of the Weak

The Quest That Changes Everything

  • Episode(s): Episode 2
  • Story Arc: D-Rank Dungeon Arc

The Courage of the Weak quest is the first quest that we see in the series. This secret quest is located in the Double Dungeon. Jinwoo realizes that the condition to survive this accursed dungeon is to leave someone behind, so he volunteers to stay so his teammates can escape.

Unbeknownst to him, once this condition is fulfilled, it triggers the completion of the “Courage of the Weak” quest. This may be more luck than skill, but he completed the quest nonetheless. And for that, he receives amazing rewards, one of which is the change in Jinwoo’s status from a mere participant to an actual “Player.” As we all know, being a player changes his life forever.

Strength Training Has Arrived

An Unforgiving Dailly Training Regime

  • Episode(s): Episode 3
  • Story Arc: Reawakening Arc

Once Jinwoo becomes a player, the system is actively assisting him to become a formidable hunter. One of the ways to achieve that is through the Daily Quest. This quest will pop up every morning and consist of a basic yet challenging training regime: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and running for 10km (6.2 miles).

Completing this sort of training every day, whether you are a hunter or not, will surely increase your strength and endurance. That is precisely what happens to Jinwoo after he does the Daily Quest every day. However, there is a catch to this daily quest. If Jinwoo fails to complete every menu in the training within 24 hours, he will face a severe penalty.

4

Survival

A Severe Penalty for the Daily Quest

  • Episode(s): Episode 3
  • Story Arc: Reawakening Arc

We’ve talked about the Daily Quest in the previous entry, so now it’s time to talk about what would happen if Jinwoo failed to complete the quest. When the 24-hour limit has passed and Jinwoo hasn’t finished everything in his daily quest, he will be teleported to the penalty zone immediately.

Solo Leveling Season 2: All Story Arcs, Explained

Solo Leveling Season 2 starts off with the Red Gate Arc, but what other story arcs will be featured in the second season? Here’s the answer.

The penalty zone is a vast desert filled with vicious colossal centipedes. Upon arriving in this desert, a new quest will pop up. This is the Survival quest. Jinwoo has to survive for 4 hours in the penalty zone. He can fight the centipedes, or he can run and hide from them. The most important thing is to survive. Once the 4 hours are up, the quest is complete, and he will be teleported back to the real world.

3

Defeat the Enemies

A Kill or Be Killed Quest

  • Episode(s): Episode 6
  • Story Arc: Dungeon & Lizards Arc

Apart from quests that only appear in certain places, such as the Courage of the Weak, or a quest that activates every day, such as the aforementioned Daily Quest, there is also a quest that will be triggered when certain situations occur. This is called an Emergency Quest. The most common type of this quest is a prompt to kill the enemy.

This quest is triggered when there is at least one person near Jinwoo who harbors a deep killing intent towards him. The system considers them as a threat, so it activates this emergency quest as a response. The reward of this quest is a simple Status Recovery. The penalty, however, is death. So once the quest is started, Jinwoo has no choice but to kill his enemies. Furthermore, this quest can be triggered inside the dungeon and in the real world. That’s why Jinwoo is extremely careful not to agitate anyone, especially in the real world because there’s a chance that this quest will appear.

2

Job Change Quest

A Quest to Become the Monarch of Shadows

  • Episode(s): Episode 11
  • Story Arc: Job Change Arc

From the moment he becomes a player, he always fights with a dagger, which makes him akin to an assassin or a rogue. While he is comfortable with that fighting style, he always wonders if there might be a better class, also known as “Job”, for him. When he reaches level 40, his wish comes to fruition. A Job Change quest pops up in front of Jinwoo.

The True Nature of the Ranking System in Solo Leveling

The ranking system in Solo Leveling is far more intricate and devastating than it initially seems.

Once Jinwoo accepts the quest, a gate appears, and he is transported into a dungeon. The goal of this quest is quite straightforward, kill all the enemies and last for as long as possible. But there’s a huge caveat to this quest. No potion is allowed, Jinwoo can’t access the store, and his status won’t recover if he levels up. The reward of this quest is a new Job for Jinwoo that is assigned to him by the system based on his combat data thus far. As a result, he becomes a Necromancer. Not just any ordinary necromancer, he is the Monarch of Shadows.

1

Collect Demon Souls!

A Quest to Conquer 100 Floors of Demons

  • Episode(s): Episode 15
  • Story Arc: Demon Castle Arc

After completing one of his Daily Quests beyond the required number of runs and reps, Jinwoo receives a reward in the form of a Key to an S-Rank dungeon called the Demon’s Castle. Enticed by its reward—the Elixir of Life that can cure any illness—Jinwoo uses the key and enters the Demon’s Castle. He failed and nearly died. So he decides to level up some more before challenging this dungeon once again.

A couple of months later, Jinwoo reached level 61 and became the Monarch of Shadows. The time has come for him to enter the Demon’s Castle once more. Upon entering, he receives a quest to collect the 10,000 demons’ souls within the castle. The Demon’s Castle has 100 floors, and the demons will get stronger the higher you go.

It goes without saying that this is one of the most difficult quests that Jinwoo has ever received. But with his trusted shadow army by his side, Jinwoo soldiers on and goes through the castle at a breakneck speed. Another thing worth remembering is although one of the rewards for this quest is the Elixir of Life, Jinwoo still has to find the three ingredients for this potion inside the Demon’s Castle. Spoiler alert, these ingredients belong to the bosses of the Demon’s Castle. The anime hasn’t reached this point yet but just know that it will be some of the most epic battles in Solo Leveling.
