Without The Whetstone, Tails Of Iron 2 Is Great Again

Tails of Iron 2 is back on track after overhauling the whetstone.

However, before you can encounter the Bird Beast and get a trophy for Tuck to use, you’ll need to locate the proper ingredients to construct a trap. What better way to set a trap for a gigantic bird than to lure it with the scent of a delicious meal?

How To Help Open Tuck’s Emporium

After you complete Return Of The Bats and Hammer and Tongs, you have a choice of three quests to embark on, one of which is called Tuck’s Emporium.

You’re tasked with helping Tuck open a shop that sells General Goods and trinkets, but he needs something to advertise the grand opening: the head of a beast.

Follow Tuck to the Outskirts and venture left toward Mossburg Farm where a farmer will tell you about the beast you’re searching for.

Continue following Tuck to the left until you encounter two Baby Mudwyrms to defeat; they’re weak to Fire and Electric and are formidable foes, so don’t hesitate to use your Elementa to make quick work of them.

Press past the bridge, then crawl into a small cave with a ladder leading downward into Blackfoot Caverns.

Where To Get The Electric Elementa Upgrade

Arlo stands beside the Electric Elementa Upgrade Stone in Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winter.

Keep traveling downward, using the grappling hooks and sliding down the walls to avoid taking heavy fall damage.

Before you slide down the last wall, go to the left and collect the Electric Elementa Power Up, which will increase its damage. This upgrade is essential for the upcoming fight, so be sure not to miss the small room it’s hidden in.

Once the upgrade is collected, mine the ore near the nearby wall for extra materials.

When you get to the bottom, Tuck will be waiting for you to help him reach some fruit. Knock it down using your bow.

With the Blood Fruit in hand, you’ll be attacked by four Bird Beast Chicks (weak to Ice and Electric); dispatch them and retrace your steps out of the caverns.

Tuck will wait at the entrance and then run off to Long Fang Castle to set the trap for the beast; follow him.

While en route, you’ll pick up a clue telling you what’s to come. Prepare to use ice and electric weapons for the upcoming battle.

Barter with the merchant here if you need to, then enter the next area and defeat three Bird Beast Chicks.

How To Defeat The Bird Beast

Follow the scaffolding up to the following area to help Tuck set the trap using the Blood Fruit you collected earlier.

The screen will darken and the Bird Beast will arrive, swooping down multiple times to attempt to swipe you with its claws.

Dodge and run away to the opposite sides of the swoops until the beast is grounded where you can hit it.

Use your Electric Elementa to stun the Bird Beast and inflict heavy damage with follow-up attacks.

The Bird Beast will peck the ground and scorch it with lingering flames; run from the attack and avoid the flaming residue.

After you’ve used your Electric Elementa, employ your Ice Elementa to freeze your foe and follow up with more damage.

Once you weaken the Bird Beast, it will flee off-screen and begin dropping bombs. Dodge the bomb eggs, then wait for the beast to return to the battlefield.

Once the beast is defeated, you will claim the Golden Beak: Tuck’s treasure for the grand opening.

What Rewards Do You Get From Tuck’s Emporium?

Arlo completes Tuck's Emporium in Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winter.

In addition to claiming the Golden Beak, you will also receive the Bird Blueprint, which unlocks access to the Bird-themed weapons and armor at the Smithy, as well as the following gear:

  • Rough Bird Axe
  • Rough Bird Shield
