One of the fiercest challenges awaits players in Black Ops 6 Zombies, where The Tomb map will invite players into a Blood Ritual that will punish them greatly if they are unprepared, but will also provide them with immense rewards unseen on other maps. Players can get Gold Armor in The Tomb within Black Ops 6 Zombies, and Gold Armor is essentially Tier 4 Armor to provide players with greater mitigation and regenerating armor that doesn’t need plates.

The Tomb features a unique easter egg involving floating rocks, in which players can easily get a free Pack-a-Punch upgrade for the early rounds.
However, acquiring the Gold Armor in The Tomb is no easy task, and the Blood Rituals will definitely punish players who dare to attempt them unprepared, so look below to find out just how to get Gold Armor and just how to survive the dreaded Blood Rituals.
How to Start the Blood Rituals to Get Gold Armor
In order to get the Gold Armor, players must first begin the process of acquiring the Blood Rituals. To begin, players need to head into the Dark Aether Nexus where they first unlocked Pack-a-Punch, and within this area, they can find two wooden boxes. Each wooden box can be attacked with the melee button, and after around the third or fourth hit in rapid succession, the box will break and reveal the head of a statue that can be acquired with the interact button (usually that means holding the reload button). Here are both of the statue head locations in the Dark Aether Nexus:
- The first statue head can be found in a wooden box opposite Jugger-Nog when looking East.
- The second statue head can be found in a wooden box at the South West corner by a tree, close to the Ossuary portal.
With the statue heads acquired, head back to the Dig Site at spawn, where two headless statues can be found. Interacting with them will place the heads found in the Dark Aether Nexus onto them, and here’s both:
- The first statue is found in the South West area of the Dig Site opposite PhD Flopper.
- The second statue is found on the East side of the Dig Site in the Roman Mausoleum, opposite the portal to the Dark Aether Nexus and potential Pack-a-Punch spawn.
Once players have placed both heads on the statues, they can hold the interact button at either of them to begin the Blood Ritual. Players must complete both Blood Rituals to obtain the Gold Armor, but they are not easy, so below will be detailed steps on each Blood Ritual.
What Happens in Each Blood Ritual?
There are two Blood Rituals that players must first complete to get the Gold Armor, and each statue holds a different challenge:
- The first statue opposite PhD Flopper will spawn 3 Elite variants of the Mimic, each with an incredibly high health pool.
- The second statue by the Roman Mausoleum will spawn 3 Elite variants of the Doppelghasts, also with an incredibly high health pool.
What makes the Blood Rituals difficult is the fact that players are near-blinded by a red mist around the Dig Site, and while they do have their Armor, they will only have 1HP that cannot be recovered through Stim Shots or passive health regeneration. This effectively means that players are trapped in the spawn room against enemies with immense health and immense damage, so below will be details on how to beat each of them.
How to Beat the Blood Rituals
Players should not attempt the Blood Rituals if they do not have at least an Epic (purple) rarity gun, and a Tier 2 Pack-a-Punch weapon, but if preferable, a Legendary (orange) gun and a Tier 3 Pack-a-Punch weapon are preferred since this is still no cake walk. Most players should be ready to take on the challenge around Round 20, as they will want a certain number of Perks and weapons, including Tier 3 Armor as that’s their only source of health. As such, Aether Shroud is a decent Field Upgrade to use so that players have some time to breathe when they are cornered or about to die.
Players will want to have the essential crutch Perks, like Jugger-Nog, Quick Revive, Stamin-Up, and Speed Cola. However, additional perks like Deadshot Daiquiri will help with aim assist and critical hit damage, while perks like PhD Flopper will allow players to tank explosive damage if they are going to use Sally & Forth, which is a weapon we strongly recommend for the Blood Rituals due to their high-damage splash effects.
From within the Blood Ritual, players can increase their damage output with the Rare Kill Joy GobbleGum to give them an Insta-Kill. However, if players do not want to use a GobbleGum, then the best strategy to beating the Blood Rituals is to just come with the right equipment and always stay on the move to avoid getting hit by zombies or the dreaded Elite bosses. Being aware of your surroundings, stocking up on ammo (and having plenty of points to buy more at the Ammo Crate) is essential to survival. Players must always be on the move and stay on top of their armor supply if they want to beat both Blood Rituals, but it’s worth noting that the Elite Mimics from the PhD Flopper statue are far harder than the Elite Doppelghasts.
Can You Use Scorestreaks in the Blood Rituals?
While players are not supposed to be able to use Scorestreaks in the Blood Ritual, there is a trick that really helps to complete this step, which involves holding the interact button on the statue to activate the Blood Ritual, and while it’s starting up, press the Scorestreak button to enter the Blood Ritual with said Scorestreak. This is best saved for the statue at PhD Flopper, as the Mimics will cause players the most grief with their electric attacks that can instantly destroy one tier of armor.
The Scorestreak players need to use is the Mutant Injector, which can be acquired for 2,500 Salvage at any Crafting Bench. When entering the Blood Ritual, quickly activate the Scorestreak to become a Mangler with the Mutant Injector, where players can negate all damage for over a minute while they spam the melee button on the swarming Elite enemies to kill them before the Mangler mode ends.
Using scorestreaks in the Blood Rituals is most likely an exploit that Treyarch will hotfix or patch at a later date, so players who want to test it out should do so close to launch.
How to Get Gold Armor & What it Does
Once both Blood Rituals have been completed, a yellow beam of light will connect the bleeding statues to the golden bull statues at the upper Roman Mausoleum part of the Dig Site where Pack-a-Punch can spawn. This beam of light will transfer to the South East wall of this room, where the Gold Armor Vest will spawn in the map. The Gold Armor is free for all players, and its special ability will see it auto-regenerate armor slowly over time.
The Gold Armor will begin to regenerate around 5 seconds after not being hit, and the amazing gimmick of the armor is that even if players have lost an armor core, they do not have to replenish it themselves as it will automatically refill itself. This Gold Armor is hard to obtain but will make high round runs and easter egg hunts in the boss fight a lot easier since players will have a constant source of armor without having to rely on purchasing armor plates or hoping a zombie drops one.
