World of Warcraft players can get the Lunar Launcher, a festive flying rocket mount, during the Lunar Festival in 2025. By collecting 75 Coins of Ancestry from the Elders scattered across World of Warcraft – including the eight new ones added to Khaz Algar – fans can add this mount to their collections until the event ends on February 11.
The Lunar Festival is World of Warcraft’s answer to the real-life Lunar New Year. The in-game event is celebrated by launching tons of fireworks, battling a special world boss in the Moonglade, and visiting Elders spread across Azeroth to collect Coins of Ancestry, the currency for the event that can be exchanged for special rewards.

The Lunar Launcher is a Skyriding mount that appears to be a Goblin rocket covered with gilded armor, giving it the appearance of a roaring eastern dragon. Coins of Ancestry are obtained by visiting Elders, who are found near most settlements and around many dungeons in Azeroth. Fans can visit eight new elders on Khaz Algar, with two in each of the four zones, and can obtain the Elders of Khaz Algar achievement in the process. With well over 100 Elders a single character can visit, and the addition of Skyriding in most old World of Warcraft zones, collecting enough Coins of Ancestry for the Lunar Launcher is much easier than it would have been before.
Of course, all the old content from previous Lunar Festivals is available as well. Players can earn over a dozen other achievements and collect many Lunar New Year-themed cosmetics, including the three Dragon Costume toys, the Lunar and Festive Lantern pets, and transmogs like the permanent flower crowns, festival dresses, and the Lunar Festival Armor customization for the Winding Slitherdrake added to the WoW event in 2024.
The Lunar Festival runs through February 11 for both modern and Classic WoW. That said, there are a number of Lunar New Year-themed World of Warcraft cosmetics that were previously datamined for the Trading Post. Blizzard has not revealed the Trading Post catalog for February yet, but fans can expect to see most, if not all, of these missing transmogs there when the inventory rotates for the month.
