Rise Of The Fallen, Ranked

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is a classic MMO that has tons of different races for players to pick from, each with very clear strengths and weaknesses. It’s very important to choose the right race for your playstyle if you want a good gameplay experience. Typically, players synchronize their race to their preferred class, but it’s also possible just to choose your race based on flavor.

So, what race should you pick? There are some races that are naturally better than others. That said, it does depend heavily on the class you want to play.

Skar

Skar are one of the least versatile races. Long-Suffering, which increases maximum health, is beneficial for all classes, but other abilities are very situational. Pack-Hunter can be useful in group play, while Fear of the Nine Gods provides situational resistance.

While Long-Suffering is useful for practically all classes, Skar work particularly well as dire lords, which have abilities that are impacted by their health points and can most benefit from the bonus.

Dark Myr

Dark Myr have some really limited bonuses. They excel at stealth and underwater combat and their Embittered Psyche increases their stealth effectiveness. However, rogue is the only class that has access to stealth, so if you really want to take advantage of this race, you have to choose a rogue.

Their other passives are out-of-combat factor very little into class considerations, so this does limit Dark Myr to being mostly a race for rogues.

Halfling

• Best Classes: Rogue, Ranger, and Warrior

Halflings are agile and resourceful. They have several passive traits that work well for all classes, like Wraith Hunters, Wild Mind, and The Fire of Youth. These universal traits can be a nice boost for any class, but none of them are particularly powerful.

Dagger specialization is where this race really takes off. It makes them very suited for rogues, as they require a piercing weapon to use Backstab so they almost always benefit from this trait. Ranger and warriors both have access to stabbing weapons as well, meaning Halflings can be very powerful DPS characters.

Archai

• Best Classes: Wizards, Druids, and Shamans

Archai have several abilities that make them strong casters, making them best suited for wizards, druids, and shamans. They can also make decent warriors and monks, thanks to their Effervescent ability, which prevents their endurance from being trained.

That said, they’re still best for a caster-heavy class. Living Reservoir reduces all mana-draining effects, which is only useful for those using mana. Elemental Attunement also only works well for druids, shamans, and wizards who have access to elemental abilities. Wizards specifically enjoy this trait, as the class has extra elemental benefits.

Ogre

• Best Classes: Dire Lords and Warriors

Ogres are focused heavily on melee, making them a pretty straightforward option. With passive bonuses like Staggering Strength, Broken Maw’s Grit, and Battle Hardened, they have tons of offensive and defensive bonuses. All of these bonuses make them work best for melee-intensive classes, like dire lords and warriors.

They don’t work very well as a caster, though. If you want to play a caster, you’ll want to choose another race. While their Battle Hardened passive does work fine for druids and shamans, all of their other abilities don’t really line up.

Dwarf

• Best Classes: Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, and Warrior

Dwarves are best known for their resilience. Fortitude, which increases health based on Stamina, is a valuable asset for all classes, making dwarves a pretty versatile race.

Mountain-forged provides a pretty significant boost for clerics, while the resistance to disarm is also pretty beneficial for most classes. The only class dwarves really don’t work out well for is enchanter, as they can’t take advantage of two of their passive abilities. You can choose just about anything else and be fine.

Elf

• Best Classes: Druid, Ranger, Rouge, and Shaman

Elves are in two main categories: Ashen and Ember. Both excel in classes that utilize Agility and Wisdom. Ashen Elves gain a strong synergy with Nature magic, while Ember Elves offer a balanced blend of offense and defense. Therefore, the type you choose matters.

Ashen Elves do best for druid or shaman, thanks to their access to nature spells. Ember Elves make good rangers and rogues due to their synergy with AGI and DEX.

Human

• Best Classes: Cleric, Monk, and Paladin

Humans are another versatile race that’s well-rounded. Their wanderlust passive bonus is extremely useful for new players, as it allows you to gain more experience while wandering and boost faction gains.

Their other specializations are limited in use, as they only work for certain classes. But if you decide to play a class that relies on a shield, the added bonus is nice. Their versatility and two strong bonuses made this race a very powerful option.

Gnomes

• Best Classes: Summoner, Enchanter, and Wizard

Gnomes are a very versatile race that works well for several classes. Their increased skill gain, mana regeneration, and silence resistance provide significant advantages throughout the game and make them naturally suited to magic classes.

Their added passive dodge chance is minimal and not a huge advantage. However, their other passive abilities are hard to beat. Constant Scholar makes them particularly good for beginner players, as it increases the rate that skills improve at, lowering the amount of grinding required.
