With a colossal batch of copium, let’s play with the idea of collaborations for a moment and think of potential future partnerships! This isn’t a definitive wish list or anything, but if you’ve been around the fandom for a while, you’d know that these are some of the more popular choices for the future.
This list will focus on in-game collaborations only.

Hatsune Miku
Hoyoverse Game – Zenless Zone Zero
Zenless Zone Zero is no stranger to AI being near-living entities among them, making the Vocaloid phenomenon Hatsune Miku a perfect choice. She could work in multiple ways in the world of New Eridu. She could be a full-fledged, albeit temporary, character, or she could even be an AI program that wants to entertain.
Though this list is not focused on physical merchandise collaborations, you must recognize the possibility of merch for the event. That collaboration could snowball and have Nicole and Hatsune perform songs together. This collaboration would be an easy slam dunk for both companies, and she’s already got plenty of experience of being in games, so it’s a natural fit.

Kingdom Hearts
Hoyoverse Game – Honkai Impact 3rd
Getting Sora from Kingdom Hearts to show up in anything is a hard-fought battle, so his features have been very few and far between. But, putting that aside, he would be a perfect fit for this action title.
Don’t believe it? Well, Sora went toe-to-toe with the Sephiroth in two of Kingdom Hearts games. He is highly adept with swordplay at high speeds and has an arsenal of magic. He may stumble initially, but he’d quickly adapt to the high-octane combat that Honkai Impact 3rd specializes in.

Pokemon
Hoyoverse Game – Genshin Impact
Who wouldn’t want to traverse the world of Teyvat with a little (or big, up to you) buddy you can fight with? It doesn’t have to be the entire Pokedex worth, just a few we can keep long after the event ends. Imagine exploring the cliffsides of Natlan with your Corviknight or fighting enemies with Greninja in high-level domains.

Here are the best Pokemon games on every Nintendo console!
A collaboration like that would take a lot of work to pull off. Game Freak, the owners of the Pokemon IP, and Nintendo is notorious for having an iron grip on Pokemon and how they’re represented in media. Nintendo may allow something like this in the future; only time and demand will tell.

Zenless Zone Zero
Hoyoverse Game – Honkai Star Rail
With Hoyoverse having four independent games under its belt, you’d think it’d be collaborating left and right. Yet, only one crossover has happened when Genshin Impact’s Fishl guest appeared in Honkai Impact 3rd for a limited-time event. So far, they’re still waiting to change this soon.
Having the twins from ZZZ interact with the traveler from Honkai: Star Rail would be fun. They both Hail from worlds with sophisticated technology and can bring a lot to the combat of both respective games. How long have you wanted to see March 7th in full-blown archer action? Let’s go, Hoyoverse!

Persona Series
Hoyoverse Game – Zenless Zone Zero
The Persona series, specifically Persona 3 and beyond, is no stranger to experimenting with new ideas. It is also known as the most stylish RPG series, depending on who you ask. Zenless Zone Zero drips with just as much style and an attitude to match.
But which persona would be the best at matching the energy Zenless brings? Persona 5 could be an obvious choice, but Persona 1 and 2 sit ripe for reintroduction to newer fans of the series, so it could be the more fitting and experimental choice.
4
Nier: Automata
Hoyoverse Game – Honkai: Star Rail/Zenless Zone Zero
The sequel to a niche game that became a worldwide phenomenon has had its ‘main character’ and official mascot, 2B, everywhere in the most literal sense. Gacha games, other Yoko Taro projects, and Fall Guys of all collabs. Yet, even several years after her game’s initial launch, her popularity doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Are The HoYoverse Games Connected?
There are some elements that are repeated or very similar across the games developed by HoYoverse. That raises the question: are they connected?
Whether you want to focus on a more story-based setup, as you would get with Honkai: Star Rail, or you want to lean into the more action-focused gameplay that Nier: Automata is known for with Zenless Zone Zero, there isn’t a wrong way for Square Enix to approach this kind of collaboration. Of course, creator Yoko Taro would be all for it; he’s mentioned that he’d collaborate with anyone who’d pay enough. Why not here?
3
Studio Ghibli
Hoyoverse Game – Genshin Impact
The vast and brightly colored landscapes of Genshin Impact are positively begging for a Studio Ghibli collab. How amazing would it be to fly on a broom alongside Kiki doing a delivery quest line? Or to explore the moving castle as a temporary domain?
Even if you don’t touch the classic movies (how could you not?), maybe you could meet Oliver and company from Level-5’s classic game Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Due to the artwork being handled by Studio Ghibli, it’s practically considered their official game already. It’s a perfect fit for art style and storytelling.
2
Final Fantasy 14
Hoyoverse Game – Honkai Star Rail/Genshin Impact
Why Final Fantasy 14 over any other title in the series? It’s theorized that Final Fantasy 14 is the world that connects all other Final Fantasy worlds and universes. Of course, that could be an easy explanation for featuring characters from other games, but it’s still fun to think about.
Maybe the Scions meet the crew of the Astral Express stranded on their world, allowing us to travel the cosmos for a questline that possibly ends with a raid. It’s not like the Scions haven’t explored space and dimension hopping already; this adventure would be an average day for the warrior of light.
1
The Legend Of Zelda
Hoyoverse Game – Genshin Impact
If you know, you know. When Genshin was first announced, it was met with some harsh criticism for looking too much like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The two main culprits were the brightly colored open world and the glide mechanic, which was new to the Zelda series.
Now that the years have passed for both games, it’s easy to see that though they may have a few things in common, their cores are vastly different. It would be fun to see Link or Zelda found in the wild of Teyvat or even Navi if your nerves could handle it. This collab would be about bygones being bygones for fans of both games.
