Play with friends and bring back the best memories.

You won’t get much of a warning before you’re booted back to the game’s main screen and are desperately trying to connect again. It isn’t uncommon to get such errors, but Travis-Rilea can be a more painful error if you encounter it often and don’t know why—especially when you may lose some progress because of it.

How To Fix Travis-Rilea

To fix a regular Travis-Rilea error there isn’t often much you can do other than sit and wait until you try to connect to the game again. After monitoring various player discussion posts, we have detected that Travis-Rilea happens most frequently on Tuesdays. This is because of Steam maintenance, which happens every week.

The maintenance can kick players back to the main menu and, of course, make them lose connection with the game servers. Maintenance happens from around 3pm PST/11pm GMT on Tuesday.

Wait around ten to 15 minutes after this time and then try and connect to the game again if you were kicked out. If you are not on Steam or are suffering from this error on any other day in the week, the possible error fixes we recommend you try are below.

  • Restart your game and boot up Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from the Call of Duty HQ again.
  • Change the DNS server to one such as Google’s. This is primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4.
  • Update your game if there is a recent update that you have not installed as of yet.
  • Check if anything else in your household has lost connection too and reset your internet connection if it has.

You can also verify the integrity of the game files through Steam. You can do this by right-clicking on Call of Duty from your library list and then selecting Properties. Once chosen, click on Installed Files, then the final option on the screen will have ‘Verify integrity of game files’ shown on a button. Click this, then restart the game again to connect and see if the Travis-Rilea error is fixed.

Does Travis-Rilea Only Happen To Steam Players?

No, Travis-Rilea is still a general server connection error, and it can also happen in other Call of Duty titles like Warzone 2, where Xbox players have also seen the error. Keep an eye on the official server status whenever you see the error pop-up to check if there is a genuine server issue occurring. If there is one, you will have to wait until it has all been fixed.

However, Steam players will commonly be those who encounter the error more frequently. So if you’re trying to do a Zombies Easter egg run, for example, try your best to avoid it on a Tuesday around maintenance times to ensure you don’t lose your progress abruptly.
