The Witcher 4’s decision to include Ciri as the protagonist came instantly under fire following the game’s reveal at The Game Awards last year. Replying to a comment later on, Nowakowski confirms that the series has had fantastic continuity in terms of its narrative. He said, “The main Story Director is the same person since Witcher 1. As has so often been the case in the games industry at the moment, Nowakowski’s tweet was hijacked by those looking for something to be unhappy with. Responding to accusations that CD Projekt Red was working with Sweet Baby Inc., Nowakowski said, “We are not working and never worked with Sweet Baby. Never even heard of them till recently tbh.”
It flies in the face of the agenda that has been pushed about the game since it’s reveal, but there’s no doubt that some people will soon find something else to be unhappy about.
